🌼Plant of the Week: Daylilies

Introducing one of summer’s most beloved perennials!

Each bloom lasts one day- but the show lasts for weeks. 🌼
Mature plants will provide many buds in color ranges of sunny yellows and oranges to rich reds and purples! They’re known for their incredible reliability, vibrant blooms, and easy care.🧡💛

✨Why We Love Them:
- Thrive in full sun ☀️
- Produce an abundance of colorful blooms
- Attract pollinators
- Tough, adaptable, and return every year📆
- Their main bloom season is starting now! Mid- June through July is where daylilies shine. ✨

This plant is definitely not going to win any beauty contests.

If your first thought was, "Hey, that looks like a w**d!" we don't blame you.

However, you might be interested to know that this is an herb called Epazote (Dysphania ambrosioides, formerly Chenopodium ambrosioides).

Native to Central and South America, epazote has been used for centuries in Mexican and Latin American cooking. Its strong, distinctive flavor is often added to bean dishes, soups, and stews, and many cooks believe it helps make beans easier to digest.

It may not be the prettiest plant in the garden, but sometimes the most interesting plants aren't the showiest ones. 🌿

Have you ever grown or cooked with epazote? We'd love to hear your favorite uses for it!

(Pic for attention. Lol, no... not really. 🌿😆)

WOW! 🌸✨ These lilies are putting on quite a show.

And just like that... 🌸✨

The flower beds are planted and already looking beautiful.

Of course, this is just the beginning. We'll be checking back throughout the summer as the flowers grow, fill in, and put on an even bigger show.

Stay tuned! 🌿😊

Every beautiful flower bed starts with a little hard work. 🌸🌿

Donna and Shelly have been busy planting, digging, and arranging flowers to help make the Village even more beautiful this summer.

Right now, they're just getting started—but we can't wait to watch these beds grow and fill in over the coming weeks. 😊

We're so grateful to Sara for keeping us up-to-date on our robin family! 🐦💚

As you can see from the eager little mouths popping up from the nest, all four babies are healthy, growing, and very hungry.

Some of you may be wondering about Dad Robin. Rest assured, he's doing his part—but unlike Momma Robin, he prefers to stay out of the spotlight. 📸😄

In fact, if you look very carefully at the fourth picture, you'll spot his tail feathers and a faint outline of his head. Apparently, he's not interested in becoming a social media star.

We'll keep sharing updates as this little family continues to grow!
