Three things I learned from my San Diego race-cation:

1) Runnjng over bridges is not the same as running through a city with steep hills despite what I tell myself 🌁

2) I have a deeper appreciation for xeriscaping than I realized 🌵

3) Humidity, although great for my tropicals, most certainly negatively skews my Strava activities 🥵

Would go back 💯

Shaved 5m 38s off my half marathon time for a 1h 44m finish time (and a personal best)!

I didn’t take running seriously until after HYROX doubles in Dallas in November. Since then, I’ve ran two half’s and one 15k, all with improved mi/min times.

Some days I don’t want to run but I do it anyway. And of course it helps to have by my side as we train for our goals together 🤗

So incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made. I’m proof that you can literally start from ground level and work your way up. You just need to channel your inner consistency, dedication, grit, and perseverance. And I’m here to cheer you on!

How is your fitness journey coming along?! What progress have you recently made?!

Rare orchids in a greenhouse jungle? Take my money!

I visited the Orchids in the Wild exhibition at , which is a dream for orchid lovers, plant parents, and anyone who thinks a greenhouse full of tropical plants qualifies as a therapy session.

Instead of seeing Phalaenopsis orchids lined up in plastic at the grocery store, this exhibit shows how orchids actually grow in nature. They were mounted on trees, tucked into moss, hanging overhead, climbing through lush greenery, and casually making my living wall feel like amateur hour.

Each orchid appeared to be in near perfect condition and the collective scent of the blooms smelled better than any Tom Ford fragrance.

If you’re near San Diego or Encinitas, this is your sign to visit before it ends on June 1.

Which orchid would you take home with you if you allowed?!

I have an empty glass jar so I think my next move is to create a terrarium for this Venus Fly Trap! I couldn’t resist the $8 price tag so now this project has been bumped to the top of my plant to-do list.

I just need to make sure it gets about 4-6 hours of direct sun each day, I water with rain water or RO/DI water only, and remember NOT to feed it.

Stay tuned to see how this turns out!

Lotus Saga: Season 2, Episode 3
I’m already ahead of where I was at this time last year. I failed to get them these lotus seeds to bloom in 2025 but now that they’ve had a chance to mature, I have a positive outlook that I’ll get some flowers by the end of the summer!

The only thing standing in my way is myself. I need to stay on top of maintenance, otherwise all this effort will go to waste.

Do you think they’ll bloom this year?!

The end where he rolls back 😭
📍Southeastern Botanical Gardens in Okinawa, Japan

Aside from the lotus pond and tropical gardens, the capybaras have a special place in my heart. Not to mention that my husband says I look like one 😆

Goes to the nursery for another cactus and leaves WITH A SUCCULENT! 🤦‍♂️ Whatever, I still like it! It’s a variegated Indian Corn Cob cactus (Euphorbia mammillaris variegata).

I guess I’m entering my cactus era. What should I get next?!

I partner with because need gym clothes that can handle running, lifting, HYROX prep, and the emotional damage of wall balls.

Centric understood the assignment.

I’ve worn their gear through training, race weekends, and Florida humidity, and it’s become a go-to for hybrid sessions where I’m bouncing between strength work, conditioning, and pretending I like sled pushes.

Orchid water culture update: the office rescues are still alive! A few things I’m watching:

firm roots > mushy roots
hydrated leaves = progress
water in the crown = absolutely not

I’m keeping a little water at the bottom and refilling when it dries. I’m a set it and forget it type plant dad 🤷‍♂️

Light is bright but not harsh.

Would you try water culture, or are you emotionally attached to bark?
