Tree Trimmer/Climber Needed

Alpha Tree Services is ready to hire an associate immediately. Alpha has been doing tree work for 20+ years in the Jacksonville (FL) area and has a rich base of customer support. Applicants should be ready to offer industry-leading care and attention for clients’ property.
$22-$45 per hour (depending on responsibilities), 4-6hr shifts M-F, overtime opportunity during emergency situations (hurricanes & storms), and potential financial bonuses.

Climber Responsibilities: safely climb trees for topping and trimming, attach ropes for safe lowering of limbs and cutouts, and operate chainsaw in tree while safely attached with climbing lanyards. On jobs where climbing is not required, regular daily responsibilities of Alpha employees (tree trimming, tree removal, chainsaw operation, Bobcat operation, site cleanup, stump grinding) would apply.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
• No fear of heights.
• Must have good hand-to-eye coordination.
• Tree climbing experience (Alpha provides climbing gear).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Tree work experience
• Driver’s license
• Experience pulling heavy trailers
• Machinery operation experience

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally. Because of these needs, applicants should expect to undergo drug-testing.
