Winter can feel like "downtime" for yards, but there are a few useful things you can do that pay off in spring.

🌱Lawn & Plants
1. Instead of raking up all the leaves🍁 in your yard, leave a thin layer to protect the grass. Just avoid a thick layer that could possibly smother it instead.

2. Add 2-3 inches of mulch around the base of your trees and shrubs without touching the trunk to help insulate the roots.

3. Make sure to keep up the watering during dry spells. Occasional deep watering helps trees and shrubs.

4. Winter is ideal to start pruning those dormant trees and shrubs as well. Especially fruit trees!

5. And always protect your sensitive plants by covering them with old sheets and blankets during freezing temps.
