Scooting is much more interesting than my work, and something very interesting recently happened.

I ran the Scooter Cannonball Run in 2023, only two weeks after a wonderful friend, Ken Wilson died and left me his new Vespa GTS with a request that I ride it in the event.

Because I had already delivered one of my old Vespa GTs to Knoxville to be trailered to California, I made a second trip to get it to the start.

After hearing about it, Corrie Vaus, an Emmy winning videographer who unknowingly was planning to make a documentary about the run, contacted me about including the story.

She interviewed and filmed me several times and those show up throughout the movie.

It came out a month ago and was very well done, winning an award in the first film festival entered.

It is available on Amazon Prime Video as well as a free site, Fawesome TV, including many commercials and promotions.

It is the third anniversary at Lemonstreet Brewery, our favorite place to take Cooper. Good beer too, with two new ones introduced today. Music too. The owners, Joe and Maren, and I invite everyone to join in.

While heading to the Neck Road house today I passed another project that I designed.

A friend wanted to build a spec office building in Ponte Vedra Beach.

One of my projects while working in Bermuda was a major upgrade to St. George Middle School. It was never built.

I liked the design of the administration building and thought I would use that design as inspiration for this one.

I completed the preliminary design but stopped there.

The owner hired my good friend, Mike Walburn, to finish the construction documents.

Mike was a much more talented architect than me, but he stayed honest to my Bermuda design.

That was 25 years ago and the building is now used by the St. John’s County Tax Collector.

I still like it but can’t help thinking how good it would have been if Mike had done the design work too.

I rode out to Ponte Vedra Beach today to see a house in which I provided preliminary design.

The house represents that design well and is now through rough framing.

The design inspiration was Frank Lloyd Wright’s long, hip roofed houses like the Robie House in Chicago.

I was pleased.

Out on the weekly job site meeting at the Ortega River House project.

Work ongoing with a special note that people still care about their work.

Between the concrete, trim and tile work, quality is running throughout the project.

Bree Ross-Stern of Ross Garden Design had some photos taken of the grown in landscaping at the Pajcic House in Avondale recently. She was nice enough to share. The house and gardens are looking great after a few years.

It looks like the River House will be in Southern Living soon. I am so proud of everyone who participated from the wonderful owners to the last person cleaning up and raking leaves. It was a joy from day one for me.

The first modern design by me in a long time. A two story house on a quiet cul-de-sac in Atlantic Beach, designed in a clean, modern style to suit the owners taste. We worked with Stephanie Athey Jarvis again on the interiors. She is the best! Bob Leinenweber was the contractor. My first project with him and he is very talented at his craft. Bob is on the job every day going over every detail. The workmanship was extraordinary. Ben Dinkins provided landscape work that fits the house well. I am quite pleased to have been asked to do the design and even happier with the results. Photographs by Wally Sears Photography.

I stopped by the River Renovation project on Friday to take some photos for Sarah. The house is going to be on this weekend's RAP Home Tour, also hosting the second half or the Preview VIP party on Thursday night. I hadn't posted anything here in a while so I thought I would use the photos in a new posting.
