I have a large selection of plants for sale! Many unusual and hard-to-find succulents, along with house plants and annuals that can be overwintered as houseplants. Did you know most houseplants love to go outside in the summer? If their light and water requirements are met, they will grow vigorously and reward you with a big, beautiful plant to enjoy indoors all winter long.

Also, most of your summer annuals, think geraniums, ivy, etc. can be brought indoors in the fall, kept in a favorite location, and put out again come warm spring weather!

New this year, I have Red Ginger, a tropical plant, Schefflera, Amaryllis, and combo planters, both succulents and houseplants in upcycled fun containers.

Come and see what will make you happy this winter and help chase away those wintertime blues! Please message me to set up an appointment time for a visit. I will be listing available plants on Marketplace. Hope to see you soon!

Fall has come to northern Minnesota! Tuesday night it was 32 degrees. Nothing froze, but it definitely put me on notice. Monday I pickee the last of the wild grapes and gathered wild Canadian plums for juice. We finished setting up the greenhouse today. I moved it from it's old spot out-back to closer to the garden shed and the garage. The new raised garden beds will be done soon and ready to go next spring. I will keep you posted on the progress around the ol' hobbit hole as things get done.

Suspended animation. I found this bumblebee one morning after a chilly night clinging to a snapdragon bloom. By noon it had flown off. Unlike flies, who tend to seek out cracks and crevices to ride out a cold night, bumblebees just go into a type of hibernation on whatever they were feeding on at the time the temperature gets too cold for them to function. The queens will find a hole to hibernate when winter comes, but the males will perish, but only after mating with the queen. Bummer.

Hey plant fanatics! This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24th and 25th only!!! Free with ANY purchase, a Mother-of-Thousands. It's a thousand plants in one. It's going to be a beautiful weekend, so come on out, get yourself something green for the house and score a FREE plant. Fall is here, so bring some summer indoors.
Also this weekend, demonstrations on how to water your plants. Say WHAT??? That's dumb, just dump water on them once a week. They'll do great. Right? WRONG!!! Did you know the most common cause of plant failure is improper watering. Up your success rate by learning how to give your darlings proper hydration. As for your hydration, you're on your own 😘.
