This is "Frankenstein" and he was built from 3 windows that were salvaged from the hotel. He will replace a casement window that was not an original. Same old growth wood and same exact profile just repurposed for a new window.

I have always wanted to try the "old school" method of moulding window parts. I finally tracked down a sash plane this weekend and was able to test it out. This was so rewarding and now I have a much greater appreciation for all the craftsman that built some of these beautiful historic windows.

Eugene Hotel update:
The 2nd phase is nearing completion and I was excited to get a jump on building the custom faux double hung wundows. The jamb depth was too thin to support true double hungs so I had to improvise 😊 A casement style window that looks like a double hung. I cant wait to get some paint on these. I am going to need a bigger shop soon 😆
