Hello, hello, hello! Where has that Havens to Betsy lady been? A long winters nap, perhaps? No, but that sounds very nice. I was asked to take on a bigger role for someone that I do consulting work for. I enjoy the work, but I am not the best at balancing too much at one time. I also didn't realize the totality of what taking on more truly meant. 🤣 But, I have to say... I've missed connecting with my Havens to Betsy family. Please tell me what you have been doing over the last several months. Any trips? New jobs? Have you moved? What is new?
I want to give a Shout Out to Cheryl S. She was one of our 2026 Decluttering Challenge group. She has been fully committed to her monthly decluttering, and just knowing it has helped 1 person; I am ecstatic. I truly believe that small changes are fundamental in creating the big changes. 🥳👏😍
Ok, Now for the ooh and ah part of the post. Thanks to some fellow online cleaning guru's I have tried a new cleaning product to me. Below is a picture of a before and after of today. I also share the cleaning product on a cloth in one of the pictures. If you know what the product is, say so in the comments!
Now lets talk about deep cleaning and maintenance cleaning. What is the difference? The difference is build-up, time and effort. We all have varying ideas of what clean means. Often times people will hire cleaners to do maintenance cleaning when their home truly requires a deep clean. Because deep cleans require more time, effort and product, it is necessary to charge the client more money. This can be a bone of contention. Mostly because of what I described earlier about different ideas of how clean is defined. And, secondly the money. All of our homes surfaces require extra attention from time to time. Especially if lifes circumstances have caused surfaces to build up more grime and gunk. I put up 3 pictures and the before and after is rather dramatic and yes, I could have sprayed some cleaner on and wiped it off and said, well my maintenance cleaning is done for today. Or, I could actually clean it. Take the extra time to take care of the neglect, while making it easier to clean the next time.
At Havens to Betsy's we know that not everyone that needs help can truly afford a deep cleaning upfront. We do try to work within everyone's budget. One way to do this is by focusing on one area to deep clean during a maintenance clean session. I will arrange with the client what area will be focused on, and what may need to be forgone during that session. This rotation works well. It's a solution that works. It requires some patience and good communication, but it generally satifies both parties.
