Help celebrate the new Nature Trail at the Church of the Open Word’s Garden Chapel Sanctuary, 1040 Dautel Lane, in Creve Couer with a fabulous family-friendly Fall Festival! October 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meet Blossom, the beautiful spokes-chicken with Second Hen’d. Explore shinrin-yoku, aka Forest Bathing. Hear from native landscaping experts Susie van de Riet, Jay Doty and author Besa Schweitzer. Pick up some pumpkins from Three Girls & A Tractor, enjoy a gyro from Mr. Slouvaki, music by The Mound City Slickers and take advantage of one of the last plant sales of the year.

Missouri Wildflower Nursery, Papillon and River City Natives will all be there (and accepting preorders). The event is co-sponsored by the Sustainable Backyard Network, Open Space St. Louis and Nature Partners Foundation.

Our first plant sale is this Saturday in St. Louis at the Kirkwood Farmers Market from 8 to 4. We'll be there again next Saturday.

And don't forget about the Fall Wildflower Market at Shaw Nature Reserve Friday Sept 6th; there is still time to place pre-orders for all of our September plant sales.

The fall season is here. Our off-site sales schedule is now online. Place your order at least five days in advance, and we can bring it to a plant sale near you where you can pick it up without paying any delivery fees.

New Missouri State Fair Floriculture Competition for 2025: Missouri Native Plant Show 💐

Enter your home-grown Missouri native plants in this year's Missouri Native Plant Show held Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, MO. It's our hope to see native Missouri plants featured as part of Missouri's rich heritage for years to come!

Entries can be made in the following categories: Perennials, Arboreal, Grasses, and Vines.

The spring plant sale at Shaw Nature Reserve has been cancelled this weekend. Pre-orders will still be available for pick up, but there will be no additional shopping opportunities.
