Hello, the Tree Street Garden Project will continue on. I am no longer the coordinator. I do not at this point in time have a phone number or email that you can connect with but I can tell you that Ashley and Hector Moldanado are the owners of the property and will be coordinating the effort they live next-door to the garden on W. Pine St., White House green metal roof, feel free to knock on their door if you’re interested in gardening and find out when they’re going to have meetings and other details that you may need to know. I’m so happy that this project will live on the 11 years that I spent working with. It was truly a joy.

This lovely crew of ETSU students came to the TSGP today, and gave their time and effort and labour to do some weeding in mulching and repainting the sign. How awesome is that!

It’s been awhile since I’ve photographed a sttoll around the garden. High summer and lots of rain recently so lots of wild growth. I think we’ve done in the Japanese beetles with the traps.

Here’s an important reminder for all gardeners ! When you find egg clusters on your plant leaves, don’t assume they are bad. For example, this yellow cluster was on the bottom of a squash leaf. Many people would logically assume they were eggs of squash bugs. They are not. These are Lady beetle eggs - exactly what you want to have on your leaves and in your garden! 🐞So, here’s today’s reminder: never remove or destroy insects or eggs until you know for sure they are something you don’t want in your garden. Likely they are beneficial or at least neutral. Of all the bugs you may encounter in your garden, 99% are NOT harmful and many are beneficial. The rest are benign. If unsure, take a pic and use your phone app to ID it. Super easy and very important. 🙏

Tree Streeters,
Remember Halloween is *always* on Halloween! If you are new to the neighborhood please be aware that depending on your address you could have 1,000+ children come to the door.
For our trick or treaters: The festivities start around 5:30. A porch light on means welcome. A porch light off means that house isn’t giving out candy or has run out. Please be safe and kind and have a great time!
