This 1970s basement came with some serious challenges: several different concrete slabs, significant highs and lows, and elevation changes of up to 2 inches.

The homeowner originally wanted metallic epoxy. After evaluating the concrete, we knew that finish wasn’t the right fit for the existing floor. So, at Crete Creations LLC, we took a custom approach.

We created a textured decorative finish with a custom base color and multiple layers of shadowing, giving the floor depth, movement, and an almost 3D appearance. The design helps visually soften the elevation changes while giving the entire space an intentional, cohesive look.

The unevenness didn’t disappear—but the way you see this floor completely changed. 👏
