As we move into warmer weather here in Minnesota it is time to stop trimming oak trees. If you have branches that must be trimmed be sure to cover the fresh wounds with paint or wound sealer. This we prevent oak wilt from being transferred into the fresh cuts. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. NOTE: if you live in more northern parts of Minnesota you might have a couple of weeks to safely trim oak yet.

For all my friends that tap maple trees. Just an FYI. This past week when I was trimming a number of maples the sap was already starting to run. I think it will slow down or even stop with the cooler weather predicted for the next few weeks. But keep an eye on the trees!
