One of the most important questions you should be asking your contractor when getting a shower done. “How will you waterproof” regardless of the method the contractor prefers (liquid membrane, sheet membrane, or even foam board). What is absolutely not acceptable is nothing. What you are seeing in the before pictures is a shower that needed completely redone, due to there only being a pan liner that was also improperly installed. That resulted in a very prominent leak at the curb, which then caused subfloor issues on top of niches leaking and mold. It is absolutely crucial your tile contractor is not only waterproofing but doing it correctly aswell!
