Statues By Joe Statue and and figurine refurbishing services. I work primarily with ceramic, chalkware, and concre Statues/Figures are restored and repainted to like new.

Statues By Joe specializes in the refurbishing of statuary and figurines. Refurbishing services are primarily for ceramic, chalkware, and concrete, but other mediums such as resins and plastic have been restored in the past. Due to the fact that Statues By Joe is not a fiberglass or body shop, no fiberglass work other than the repainting of fiberglass figures. Depending upon workload, requests may be denied until such time they can be properly responded to.

JOE:
So... Rebecca and I did something...

I was browsing Facebook Marketplace earlier this week, not looking for anything in particular, when I came across an ad selling the figures you see pictured here. NOTE: This is a pic which I took, not one from the Marketplace ad.

These were being sold in Battle Creek for stupid cheap, so I knew I had to go check it out. The figures need some TLC, but we decided to purchase them anyway. So, it looks like this will, eventually, be the "replacement" figures for the set we had to sell 2 years ago.

These are now in our garge awaiting the day that we can afford to take them to Bronner's Commercial Display to be properly refurbished. In the meantime, I will be displaying the smaller Nativity sets of the previous two years.

That said, I do have a few questions for all who read this: How would you suggest we raise funds to get these refurbished? Should we do a GoFundMe or GiveSendGo? We have some holiday items we could sell. Heck, I have limited copies of my 2010 "Christmastime!" CD I could sell. Should we do a benefit concert with local talent? Would you, or anyone you know, even be interested in helping out with this sort of thing?

Please feel free to leave comments with suggestions on how we could go about this. We'd love to get your input. Thank you!

I post a pic of this every year. This is the indoor Nativity scene at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. This is a set that was owned by Fr. Bart (IYKYK), and which I refurbished in 2012, if memory serves. This year, we decided to display it with min-flood light so the figures would be visible even when the rest of the church is dark.
