Hey neighbors! It's Greg, Your Neighborhood Sprinkler Guy with Northward Bound LLC here wishing you a happy Memorial Day! Quick sprinkler tip for today. I've had a couple people ask me what the 6" round green lids are for that they sometimes see at ground level in their yards. Those are the lids to your individual sprinkler zone valves. Each zone has its own valve that receives a signal from the control box when it's time to turn it on or off. A lot of times those need to be found when you have a zone of sprinklers that are staying on or won't shut off. Keeping the sod from growing over and covering them up can help save time, money, and headaches if they need to be found in the future. We adjusted our clocks this morning, and you know what that means... it's almost sprinkler season! Beginning in April I'll be starting up sprinkler systems in the area. Good morning neighbors! I just wanted to thank everyone who has used Northward Bound LLC, and me, for their sprinkler maintenence and winterizing needs this year. I still have a few open time slots this Sunday the 26th if anyone needs winterized yet. The last time I'll have the compressor in the neighborhood will be the weekend of Nov 8th-9th. Good morning neighbors! I've had a few people ask specifically how I winterize sprinklers, so I thought I'd go ahead and share my process.

1. I shut the water off, and drain as much of the main line in the basement as I can.

2. The compressor gets hooked up and I go through each zone while walking around the yard to visually ensure that every head gets blown out.

3. After the first time through each zone, I start over and go through them all a second time for 30-40 seconds, just to make sure nothing got missed.

4. Finally, the compressor gets shut off. Then I go back to the basement and open up the drain to ensure the main line got fully drained.
