Let the begin. I’ve been itching to get back into the dirt after baking and making preserves for a couple years! I’m planning a front yard garden with lots of flowers and vegetables mixed together. I’m planning to mostly “edible” varieties of flowers to put on my custom cakes and to bring in pollinators.

Will keep you updated! My past vegetable garden has gone back to the wild. Nature took over several month after I was unable to tend to it. A hillside garden is a lot of work. I’m hoping this time it will be a little easier to maintain.

Our second round of starfruit are coming in! This is a beautiful tree. It never fails to give us an abundant amount of starfruit twice a year! At my company Aloha Bites we make a startfruit pepper jelly with the fruit from the KualoaGrown starfruit harvestand also with the fruit from our little Hawaii urban garden starfruit tree.

You can purchase this jam at farm store and also through

Great day at market! This is Jacob(my son) and Lauren(his sweetheart)! They are at the and space at Windward mall on Wednesdays. They are both Botany students at Lauren’s interest are art and native Hawaiian plants and Jacob is interested in medicinal and fungi. They’re very knowledgeable in all of the above, so stop by next week and say hello!

I(Akiko) started as a journal during the pandemic . We transformed our tiny 1/4 acre yard and hillside from lawn to a food forest. We have bananas, starfruit, coffee, cacao, various citrus trees, mulberry, figs, papayas, ice cream bean, pigeon peas, longon, egg fruit, avocado, mangos, breadfruit, taro, tea, hibiscus, lavender, ginger, turmeric, vanilla, kava, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. We also have an Aquaponics system with tilapia. In the past couple years I have learned what seems to work here in Kaneohe and Hawaii. Even though it doesn’t look it on my feed, I’m a lazy gardener, if it can’t survive on its own or is hard to grow, I will pass the variety on and be happy with the varieties thrive here.

You can see our progress in the past post. I founded cupcakes and Jam company and have been so busy that I haven’t had time to post on . Our garden is my place to relax and forage. If you’re looking for something We have you can DM us for questions on how to get it, If we don’t have it in stock we will share with you where we got It.

Much Aloha! ~Akiko

Coffee flowers are blooming on our trees! They smell amazing! We purchased these trees from Kona last year before they stopped shipping them to the outer islands. We have 6 and are hoping to propagate more so we can make more than just one cup of coffee! ☕️❤️☕️
