Champion Ginkgo Tree! Ginkgo trees are ancient, “living fossils” known for their distinctive fan-shaped leaves and resilience, often thriving in urban environments. These deciduous trees are native to China, can live for centuries, and have separate male and female plants. While male trees are often planted to avoid the foul-smelling fruit of the females, the cooked inner part of the fruit is an edible delicacy in Asia.
