Today’s outlook has much of the Kansas City area under a 30% risk for severe weather, and that’s definitely something to pay attention to.

The main concerns right now are:

🌩️ Large hail
💨 Damaging winds
🌪️ Possible tornadoes
🌧️ Heavy rain and lightning

If you haven’t already, it might be a good idea to pull vehicles into the garage, secure anything that could blow around, and make sure your phone alerts are turned on.

We’re keeping an eye on the weather throughout the day. If your area gets hail or strong winds, remember that roof damage isn’t always obvious from the ground. Sometimes everything looks fine until a leak shows up months later.

Forecast models are showing the potential for severe storms later today with damaging winds, heavy rain, tornadoes and large hail possible across the area.

Now’s a good time to:
• Move vehicles under cover
• Secure outdoor furniture
• Charge devices and flashlights
• Keep an eye on local weather alerts tonight

Another job confirmed!!! Had to go through the HOA to approve a Grand Sequoia color. Got the approval and it’s a green light to submit for install!!! New gutters and a designer roof coming up for our clients!!!

Seeing images like this from Enid last night just stops you for a minute.

That’s someone’s home.
Someone’s memories…
Someone’s sense of safety… changed in an instant!!!

We’re not in Oklahoma, but storms don’t respect state lines. What happened there is a reminder of how quickly things can shift for any of us.

Not every storm hits every home.
But when it does, it changes everything for the people it touches.

In the roofing world… it’s easy to focus on damage, claims, and getting jobs done.
But moments like this bring it back to what really matters.

There’s real emotion behind every call after a storm.
Stress. Uncertainty. Sometimes even fear. Trauma is created by these storms.

People aren’t just dealing with a roof.
They’re trying to figure out how to move forward.

⛈️ You can watch Ryan Hall, Y'all or Meteorologist Max Velocity on You Tube for great weather coverage. Keep your phones charged and a battery packed charger or weather radio. DON’T DEPEND ON SIRENS!

Tips for your car:

🚗 If you can, get your car under cover fast. Garage, carport, even a gas station canopy helps more than you think.

🚘 Keep a thick blanket in your car. Not a towel, something with real padding like a comforter or moving blanket.

🚙 Use bungee cords to secure it over your windshield so it doesn’t blow off when the wind picks up.

🚨 Check thrift stores for thick blankets/comforters and get some bungee cords and store in a vacuum sealed bag and keep in your trunk.
