Reviews like this make our day! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Joel at Vivid Copper was a delight to work with. The work that they do is beautiful and simply top notch! It's amazing to see the variety of products they can create. They're so skilled at their craft that they can produce almost anything you can imagine. We added copper patina to our fireplace but we are already thinking about what cool product he could make next for us. He was always willing to let us stop by to visit about our project. Super personable and wonderful to work with!" — Mary S.

Thank you, Mary! Your patina copper fireplace surround turned out stunning.

Every sheet we make is hand-finished to order in our Kansas City shop, so no two projects look exactly alike.

We finished last week with this custom order. This is our classic Antique patina with a custom twist. The customer wanted Antique but wanted it darker and richer, so we made it happen.

These sheets are going to be custom countertops in a hunting lodge. We can’t wait to share the final results.

Every sheet of Vivid Copper is made by hand, in house, to order, right here in Kansas City. That means any of our 29 patinas can be adjusted for your project:

🔸 Darker or lighter
🔸 More of one color, less of another
🔸 A completely custom finish from scratch

See something you love but want it your way? Send us a message, call us or email [email protected] and tell us what you're picturing.

Meet Joel Stubenrauch, the owner of Vivid Copper 👋

Joel has been making copper sheets for over 20 years. Vivid Copper is a second-generation family business: Joel took over from his dad, Fred Stubenrauch, and every sheet is still hand-finished right here in Kansas City.

When he’s not in the shop, you’ll find Joel with his family at the lake, probably with a fishing pole in hand 🎣

Next time you see one of our sheets, know that it came from a guy who’s been perfecting this craft for two decades. Say hi to Joel in the comments! 👇

From a plain piece of wood to a one-of-a-kind copper bar top.

Joel shows how we do it with our light gauge patina copper: contact cement, a J roller to wrap the edges, then an epoxy pour for a glassy, durable finish.

The same method works for refreshing an old bar top, countertop or table.

Every sheet is handmade in our Kansas City shop.
We offer 30 patina finishes, custom colors, and light gauge sheets up to 3'x20' (long enough for most bars in one piece).

Something special is in the works!

We’re officially starting to create custom copper lights at Vivid Copper, and we couldn't be more excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at these finishes.

Lighting has such a huge impact on how a home feels from the street, and these custom fixtures are designed to be that perfect final accent, giving your home the effortless curb appeal it deserves.

This project was truly one of a kind. Combining custom architectural details with rich, hand-patinated copper accents took meticulous craftsmanship, but seeing the final result was beyond worth it.

From the sweeping turret roof to the custom window canopy, the oxidized turquoise tones perfectly complement the stone facade and intricate wrought ironwork—especially under that golden hour light.

A massive thank you to our amazing clients and team for trusting the process. Nothing beats watching a custom copper transformation come to life!
