Come and see us this weekend for the AANHPI Festival at the Zhou B Art Center Kansas City MO on Saturday ✨️

Open studios are also on Saturday during the festival. Prints will be available for $20-35 each and there will be some really cool small paintings for sale at $60 each! Come eat some amazing food, enjoy the culture, and hang with some amazing artists!

On May 1st, the Zhou Brothers will return to the Zhou B Art Center KC for the opening Exhibition: Home is Where Our Gather. Their visit lands right at the start of a weekend centered on AANHPI culture and community.

If you have spent any time in the building, you already know that Zhou B is more than a gallery. Having the Zhou Brothers back in the space brings that feeling into focus in a real and tangible way.

Presented by Hella Good Deeds, the exhibition brings together artists whose work speaks to identity, heritage, and the many layered experiences within Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.

The Zhou Brothers will be moving through the galleries, taking in the work, and engaging with the space as it continues to evolve. A reminder that the building is not static, it grows through the people who pass through it and the stories they choose to share.

On May 2nd, the AANHPI Festival takes that same energy and expands it outward. The day will be filled with local vendors, live performances, and a broader celebration of AANHPI culture.

It is a full weekend that feels connected from start to finish.

Friday invites you to slow down. To spend time with the work. To experience the exhibition in a way that feels present and intentional.

Saturday opens things up. More people, more movement, more moments to share. If you have been looking for a reason to step into the space again, this is a good one.

Come see us on Friday night ✨️

After a short hiatus, open studios are back at the ZhouB Art Center KC, 1801 E 18th, KCMO. After a lot of debate and input from artists, 2nd Friday will be the day to come see us each month. This month that day is Friday, March 13th, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
ZhouB offers two floors of talented artists and open studios gives you the chance to find new art and to interact with the people doing the creating. There's plenty of parking and once you enter the building you get to see the work of 25-30 artists in a temperature controlled environment.
I love open studios and look forward to the opportunity to interact with a lot of interesting people. I hope you decide to be one of them!

Check out Michael Brantley and the amazing work he does at the Zhou B Art Center Kansas City MO on the 3rd Floor. He's exhibiting at the Nerman and everyone should go check it out!

“Visionary: The Work of Michael Brantley” at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art is the artist’s first institutional solo exhibition, and the biggest little show this critic has seen in some time…

Everyone has lines in the sand. Here are mine.

I do not support ICE, Fascism, or ANY OTHER state sanctioned violence towards any human being. It's against who I am as a person. I don't support dictators. I don't support anyone who justifies the criminalization of our basic human rights. I don't support people who can look the other way, while your country and the people in it burn.

I can't support people who reject reality when the proof is literally readily available. I can't ignore how the current events are so similar and parallel to the first few exhibits in every Holocaust museum I've been to, every movie I've watched about World War II, AND the history we all learned in school.

I will be fine if someone unfollows me or refuses business because I've expressed my lines in the sand. What I wouldn't be able to live with is giving into the propaganda machine, throwing away my personal values, and pretending that destroying an entire community of people is the America I want to be a part of.

I've drawn my lines. I hope I'll see some of you amazing rebels on the other side 💙
