I didn’t take pictures of all of the trees I did this year, I totally soaked them all in for myself.
My last days of Nest & Nook have come to end, and while closing this chapter and opening another is exciting, I still find myself slightly teary eyed. Not sad, just, ok this is it. I guess because after reflecting on 8 years, I’ve come to realize that this business provided so much more than anyone will ever know. While it was fun to decorate and bring happiness to others, it was a way for me. A way to get through some really tough times in my life, a way to meet new friends, a way to support my children as a single mom, and live a wonderful life. It gave me confidence and self satisfaction. It allowed me to show my boys what working hard and hustling looks like, especially on the days when I was just so tired and worn down. It allowed for quality time with those that needed it most. It was a way to make my way, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
On a funny note- I’m proud to say I never received anything less than 5 stars, I never fell off a ladder, or ended up in the hospital. I only cut my finger badly, ONCE, but in true Jenn fashion, never went to the doctor. I made friends with every single pet that I came across. Except, there was this one cat, he was sketchy and looked at me weird so I stayed away and kept my eye on him every time I was at HIS house. I’ve only been scared once in a house alone, still not sure what THAT was to this day, but I’d rather just let it stay that way. AND, for those that don’t know, my husband was a client of mine. That’s how I met him. He says he’s still paying me to this day. Ha! All in all, I think life had its way of working out exactly the way it was supposed to. If you have a memory of me, please share below. It would be nice to reminisce.
I truly want to express my gratitude to every single one of you who supported me through the years. Without you all, there obviously wouldn’t have been a Nest & Nook. I’m so so thankful for your friendships and love. I’ll forever smile when I think of you all, and look forward to seeing you around town.
Come by and visit Landon and I at our new meat market, opening SOON, and follow our page, Flying B Meat Company.
To close, here are a few of the trees I did this year. Merry Christmas
