Before we finalize a kitchen layout, I’m mentally walking through your morning coffee, unloading your dishwasher, and making dinner with someone standing in front of the fridge. 😂

Here are three things I always check:

1. Can everything open comfortably?
Appliance doors, drawers, and cabinets need room to open without collisions or blocking a busy walkway.
2. Does the layout support your routine?
Where will you prep? Set down groceries? Keep the trash? Those everyday movements help determine where everything belongs.
3. Is the storage planned around what you own?
Your pots, baking sheets, small appliances, and dishes need a home. More cabinets don’t automatically mean better storage.

The finishes get your attention, but the layout is what you’ll live with every day. 🤍

This post is going to make me emotional. We’ve worked SOOO hard for this moment. 🥹

Lisa Best Interiors Design Studio will be opening its doors in downtown at the beginning of the new year!

Watching my husband and our kids help tear down this wall means more to me than they probably realize. This has been my dream, but getting here has taken all of us.

Growing a business while raising a family comes with a lot of juggling, second-guessing, and figuring things out as you go. Seeing my family here, helping turn this space into our studio, makes me feel so proud and so thankful.

One day, I hope the kids walk in and say, “We helped build this.” Because they did. And I hope they remember being part of something their mom worked so hard for. 🤍

Travis, thank you for the work you’re putting into this space and for being beside me through it all.

We’re so excited to call Fulshear our new home and become part of this community, while continuing to serve our wonderful Katy clients and all of West Houston. I can’t wait to welcome you into a space of our own!

One bedroom, two different directions. ✨

One embraces bold florals and playful layers. The other brings in softer botanical details, warm neutrals, and a little contrast. Both feel inviting, personal, and thoughtfully pulled together.

This is why I love creating renderings—seeing the whole room come together makes it so much easier to choose your direction before making purchases.
