We updated this kitchen in Far Hills for a client who wanted something different than the standard white kitchen. So we integrated different materials, walnut, painted wood, black metal door cabinets in the butler’s pantry and pops of color with the Bluestar appliances and backsplash. We added a large walnut coffee bar with arch top doors to play off the window on the other side of the room. It’s fresh and personal, but highly functional and a joy to explore, with rich little details to discover around every corner.

The amount and variety of beautiful projects we’ve done over the years and the lives we touched along the way is truly humbling, and we are most grateful to our clients for their trust and supporting the families of us and our wonderful employees along this journey. A recent master bath remodel, where we lightened and brightened it from its 1980’s dark cherry wood and corian state to something more contemporary, clean and timeless. We removed the original tub shower and soffit and converted that into a walk in shower, sorted and matched all the marble for the best possible layout, then split the medicine cabinet into thirds to solve the sconce layout problem and get more storage. We made the vanity ourselves and it was painted on site so all the woodwork seamlessly comes together. How is your master bath looking?

We are just completing a kitchen project for a lovely client , who mentioned that his wife, who has since passed, personally selected all the hand painted tiles on the original kitchen’s backsplash. So, we lovingly tried to salvage as many as we could, and used them to make a serving tray for him out of the same materials that we used in his new kitchen. It was a small gesture, but meant the world to him, and makes running our family business so much more than just a job.

This space had a wall separating a small dining area from the living room, which we eliminated so the spaces could be joined, then opened up the back of the house with a wall of glass to appreciate the serene wooded backyard. We added wide plant pine floors throughout, cladding some old concrete steps and joining them to a raised hearth we clad in black stone. We also moved all the overhead lighting and HVAC to the perimeter so they weren’t directly over seating areas. It was a difficult project but completed changed the main living space, the flow through the house, and now looks the way it always should have.

Growing up, my Dad had a big poster of the 100 rules of Murphy’s Law over the little table at the business we would have lunch at every day (example: everything that can go wrong, will). Funnily, I think it actually made us all better business people and project managers. Assuming something will go wrong can help you head it off at the pass. But I like these idea of flipping the script for 2025 - I saw this somewhere online and wanted to share. To eveything going right in 2025! Best wishes to you and yours and Happiest of New Years!
