A little bit about me...Hi! I'm Wendi, the artist and creator behind River Bottom Roots. I'm a 46 year old, born and raised Midwestern country girl. I am an artist and avid bow hunter. I love to hunt deer, mushroom hunt, fish and spend time with my little family. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. DIE HARD Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. I have lived in Illinois along the mighty Mississippi River for almost 15 years now. We actually have a backwater slough running through our property! Hence the name "River Bottom Roots". I've ALWAYS loved art. Creating, painting and building/making things with my own hands. I'm living my dream making art and living off the land as much as possible. It is deer season now. I won't be in the shop creating as often as I was for the next few weeks. I would be happy to do custom orders though so hit me up with any ideas or questions you have! As controversial as hunting is, I would like to assure the non-hunters who follow me that we are ethical hunters and use every part of our harvested animal that we can. Give thanks to God and the animal for feeding our family this way rather than paying outrageous prices through the grocery stores where you don't even really know where your food comes from.
With that being said, happy hunting, aim small miss small and even if you don't see deer, a day in the woods among nature is a true gift!
