When you have 76,000 photos on your camera, and more than 70% of them are of flowers, then you know it’s become an obsession. 😉

And I don’t know about you, but I have very good intentions when I go to delete photos. But then I go down a rabbit hole looking at all past photos of flowers, friends, family, and before you know it, three hours have passed, and I’ve deleted 2.5 photos.🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyone else?🙋‍♀️

It’s been our busiest season yet, and we have some fun installs still on the books here in NW Georgia. Now, if only we could get mother nature to cooperate and stop bringing us three months worth of rain in two weeks, that would be great. ☔️🫤

Stay tuned for more flower shenanigans. And please tell the sun that we miss her.😎

This Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. The ones who left home carrying duty, courage, and love for something greater than themselves …and never returned.

Their sacrifice is woven into every freedom we enjoy today. May we honor them not only with remembrance, but with gratitude, humility, and lives well lived.

Gone, but never forgotten. 🇺🇸

This is your sign to stop thinking of Boston ferns simply as “porch plants.”

One of my favorite ways to use them is to hang them directly from the branches of a tree to create a lush, layered canopy over a shade garden below. It adds instant charm, texture, movement, and honestly feels a little magical when the breeze blows through them.

And the best part? It’s SO simple to do.

We just used inexpensive S-hooks to hang each fern from different branches at varying heights. That’s it. No complicated installation, no fancy hardware required. Now you have a creative way to rethink a classic plant, especially if you don’t have the traditional porch that you see these beauties hanging from every summer.

So if you’ve ever thought, “I love Boston ferns,” but you don’t have a porch or your yard is full sun, here’s your chance to enjoy them. As long as you have a shady tree, you are good to go.

Look around your yard. You might already have the perfect spot for them, and you didn’t even know it. 😊

That old fountain you found at that estate sale might be your next favorite planter. Or perhaps you inherited one that no longer works. ⛲️

This fountain planter was planted back in mid-April, and look at her now! Overflowing with purple bacopa, white petunias, white begonias, purple heart, and creeping jenny this fountain is proof that unusual vessels can make some of the most beautiful containers.

This is our 6th season planting this fountain, and every single year it becomes a showstopper. We usually stick to a classic green and white palette, but this year we added a little extra splash of purple, and the homeowner absolutely loves it.💜

Don’t overlook old fountains, birdbaths, urns, or other forgotten pieces around your home. If it can hold soil and drain water, it can become a gorgeous planter. 😊Sometimes the most unexpected containers create the prettiest ways to display those summer flowers. ⛲️

Every single year, patriotic planters are one of the most requested recipes I do 🇺🇸

But this year feels extra special with Memorial Day approaching and America’s 250th birthday right around the corner.🇺🇸

Each window box is approximately 16 inches long x 8 inches wide. Here is our tried and true recipe:

❤️ Proven Winners Surefire Red begonias - 3
💙Proven Winners Surefire White begonias -2
🤍 Proven Winners Diamond Frost euphorbia - 1
💙 Proven Winners Whirwind Blue Scaevola (fan flower) - 2

It’s airy, colorful, easy to grow, and gives you that classic Americana look without feeling too heavy or overdone.

Save this recipe for your Memorial Day or Fourth of July porch.🇺🇸 And follow along as we help make the Atlanta area more beautiful, one container at a time. 😊

I always chuckle when I hear someone warn against overhead watering.

Of course, in a perfect world, we would have the ability to water the soil only. Most flowers and flowering shrubs don’t necessarily benefit from overhead watering. But this world isn’t perfect, and we gardeners are a busy bunch of people.

And in that perfect world, we’d all have drip irrigation tucked neatly into every planter and garden bed. But in the real world? We’ve got hoses, sprinklers, watering cans… and this little thing called rain. ☔️😂

Yes, watering at the soil line is ideal. But acting like overhead watering is some kind of gardening crime is a little dramatic when Mother Nature herself waters from above.

Good airflow, healthy soil, and consistent watering matter far more than stressing people out over every drop that lands on a leaf.

Garden with what you have. Your plants will survive the sprinkler. I promise. 😉

We love a window box just as much as the next person, possibly more. We enjoy the design, plant selection, installation….and even the adventure of transporting them up and down via an indoor staircase because there is no exterior one on any of these luxury townhomes. 😉 We design and install them outside, and then carefully carry them back up through the home and hoist them into position on the outdoor porch.

Here’s what we planted in these 39 inch x 8 inch window boxes:

Purple angelonia- 2
White salvia- 3
Prince purple alternanthera -2
Pink Upright Cora vinca- 4
Heartland Lantana-2
Swedish ivy-2
Limey potato vine-2
White Cora Cascade vinca-2

These full sun window boxes are some of our favorite to do every year…and doing them on a Wednesday seems quite fitting, as well. 🤍🌸

Do you have window boxes? And if so, what are your favorite flowers to plant in them for the summer?
