3 Reasons Paint Bubbles Around Windows ๐ Save this for later!
Noticed paint bubbling, blistering, or peeling around your windows?
Itโs easy to assume the paint itself is the problemโbut often, the bubbling is a symptom of something happening underneath.
Here are three common causes:
1๏ธโฃ Moisture is getting behind the paint.
Leaks, condensation, or small gaps around a window can allow moisture to get trapped beneath the coating, eventually causing it to bubble or peel.
2๏ธโฃ The surface wasnโt properly prepared.
Painting over peeling, dirty, chalky, or damaged surfaces can prevent the new paint from bonding properly. It might look fine at first, but problems can show up later.
3๏ธโฃ The materials are reacting to temperature changes.
Windows and the surrounding materials naturally expand and contract with changes in temperature. If the coating isnโt properly bonded or suited to the surface, that movement can lead to bubbling, cracking, or peeling.
