Update: bouquets and jars are sold out but bundles are still avalible.

It’s recital weekend, and for those of you who need a bouquet, we’ve got you covered!

First, we want to thank everyone who pre-ordered flowers for yesterday’s recitals. We truly appreciate your support!

And if you didn’t pre-order, that’s okay too, we stocked the shed with extra flowers just in case you need something special for your dancer.

We’re also trying something new this season by offering fresh-cut bundles featuring whatever is blooming on the farm right now. Currently, we have:

Saponaria bundles – $15
Ranunculus bundles – $15

We also have a selection of jar arrangements available, perfect for brightening up your table at home.

Stop by the shed and grab some farm-fresh flowers while supplies last. Good luck to all the dancers this weekend, we hope you have an amazing recital! 💐🩰

Our flower shed is located on the right hand side of our drive. It's self serve and open while supplies last.

Thank you to the Dissinger family for finding us and allowing us to be a small part of their wedding celebration today.

This family is incredibly hands-on and originally planned to do everything themselves. However, just a few weeks ago, they reached out to us for help with the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. They purchased flowers from our farm, along with some specialty blooms I ordered in, to create their own bud vases.

It truly was a family affair. Earlier this weekend, family members gathered to put together the bud vases, while Grandma took charge of creating the ceremony arch and other arrangements. Seeing everyone come together to make their vision a reality is something special. I cannot wait to see how it all turned out.

At Farmyard, we don’t just offer full-service events. We’re also happy to step in when you need a little extra help or simply provide the flowers and supplies for those who want to create their own designs. No matter your event style, we’re honored to help make your day beautiful.

It’s a double wedding weekend! 💐

Today I had the honor of celebrating with Madison and Dale in Findlay, Ohio. What a beautiful day and an absolutely stunning color palette. I can honestly say this was one of the weddings I’ve been most excited about in the last few years. The combination of rich burgundy, vibrant lime green, and cascading draping amaranth completely stole my heart.

I snapped a photo of the bridal bouquet before leaving the house, but somehow forgot to take one of the finished bouquet. The bride wanted all the color and all the draping, and the final result turned out even better than I imagined. I’m still kicking myself for not capturing it!

A huge congratulations to Madison and Dale as they begin this new chapter together. It was such a joy to be a small part of your special day.

Now it’s on to tomorrow’s wedding, but before I do, I have to give a big shout-out to Raegan from Petals & Gifts. She helped make this double wedding weekend a success. We teamed up tonight to finish tomorrow’s boutonnieres and corsages, and she also created today’s corsages and boutonnieres and helped with the beautiful arch. Having another talented florist by your side during a busy weekend is truly invaluable.

Thank you again, Raegan, for your hard work and teamwork. Here’s to two beautiful weddings and a weekend full of love, flowers, and celebration!

Today is all about Farm to Table. I have never grown Saponaria before, it’s in the baby’s breath family, but I’m in love! This isn’t even a quarter of what we grew, and I know it will be gone before long, so we’ll be planting more seeds this weekend.

I also love seeing our flowers go into arrangements. Huge thanks to Mya for helping knock out these graduation arrangements that will be used to celebrate another amazing achievement!

Sorry for the long update.

For those of you who think flower farming is the greatest job in the world, you’re probably right. But I can promise you most days I’m covered in dirt, have muddy toes, and dirt packed under my fingernails. Finding out that soil exposure can actually help improve mental health and mood somehow makes it all feel a little more worth it.

Today, the new Hoop House was officially planted out with dahlias, Lisianthus, eucalyptus, stock, and sweet william. Most of you know we lost this hoop house this past winter, but five Dahlias survived along with one variety of eucalyptus which you can see in the middle row. Since we also lost our greenhouse after more wind damage, we’re currently using the Hoop House as a temporary greenhouse space too. Slowly but surely, we’re making our way through all the trays.

Our second, smaller hoop house already has ranunculus, campanula (bellflower), delphinium, larkspur, and bells of Ireland growing beautifully, and sweet peas will be going in very soon. I’ve wanted to grow sweet peas for a long time, and now that the very first bloom has opened in its tray, I think it’s finally time to get them planted.

Flower farming definitely isn’t cheap either. I found that out quickly this week when cattle panels and stakes alone cost over $400. But despite the mud, the long days, and the expenses, watching everything slowly come to life makes it worth it.

My goal is to have all of our seedlings in the ground by next weekend. 🤞

Although it was an early morning, I love seeing how our arrangements become part of the special events we help celebrate. Today’s flowers are for a wedding shower, and I’m so thankful to Kari for thinking of us and inviting us to be a small part of one of her best friend’s special moments. What a beautiful setting and a wonderful day to celebrate new beginnings, love, and all the exciting memories yet to come.

These girls are amazing!

I’m so happy to have the whole team back together. Today was a busy one with preparations for two graduations and a bridal shower underway.

The team worked hard to complete all of tomorrow’s graduation orders, and they turned out beautifully! Unfortunately, we ran out of time to make additional bouquets today, but we’ll be back at it soon.

So grateful for this hardworking crew and all they accomplish together!

And just like that, our first early-blooming peonies have all been cut! What a beautiful start to the season.

Our ranunculus continue to open, revealing new colors each day, while the campanula are just beginning to bloom, bringing a whole new wave of color to the field. There is so much more beauty on the way! This time of year, things can change so quickly—one day a field is full of buds, and the next it’s bursting with blooms.

It’s officially flower season over here, and I just couldn’t keep this to myself. Today we cut our very first blooms, 20 stems off ranunculus, including our first 11 peonies of the season. They’re already spoken for with events this weekend, but they were too beautiful not to share.

While I was at work, my helper Delaney was busy getting a head start clearing the fields so we could pull plastic back and till. I called in all the extra hands and managed to get two rows of zinnia seeds planted, although I was hoping for four rows I'll count this one as a win.. Then, out of nowhere, the skies opened up and the monsoon hit. Finishing that last stretch of putting plastic back down in the wind and rain was… an adventure.

This work isn’t always glamorous, but family moments like these, and those flowers, make it all worth it.

Our last puppy went home yesterday, and someone on the farm was definitely feeling the shift and needed a little extra attention...

She tracked me down in the field and convinced me to take a break between finishing up planting the static and strawflower.

I then slowed things down for a bit, to water the hophouses. Checking on the eucalyptus, admiring the ranunculus that are starting to bloom, and just soaking in a quiet moment.

I ended my evening tilling parts of the field to make room for more seedlings, and then came the sweetest surprise… a drop-off of Solomon’s seal! If you know, you know, this is not an easy plant to find. I’ve been searching and asking for special orders for the past two years. It’s such a beautiful early spring greenery and filler, and I truly hit the jackpot with this bicolored variety.

Thank you, Ranae, for thinking of me and for such a special gift!
