Clausena lansium. Also known as: wampi, wampee, Chinese wampee, gweni in India, luqum in the Philippines, and miếng in Vietnam. Wampi has a unique flavor that can be difficult to describe. It is generally sweet and tangy with a slightly sour aftertaste. The texture of the fruit is like a grape, with a thin, edible skin and a soft, juicy flesh inside. Some people describe the taste as a combination of grapefruit, kiwi, and pear. Overall, it is a refreshing and delicious fruit. Wampees are small, evergreen, fast-growing trees. The trees are hardy and can thrive in a range of soil types, from sandy to clayey, as long as they are well-drained. The trees typically start to produce fruit after 3-4 years and can continue to produce for many years. These trees are going on 2 years old. Wampee fruit trees prefer warm and humid climates, and they can tolerate partial shade but do best in full sun. Wampee is self-pollinating meaning you only need one tree to get fruit. Wampees are rare and undercultivated in Florida.

Wood Apple (Limonia acidissima formerly Feronia elephantum) sometimes called Curd Fruit, Tanaka, Vilampazham and Vilamaram is a member of the Rutaceae family which includes the Citrus genus, and famous members such as Curry Leaf, Bael, Limeberry, Wampi, Ginberry, White Sapote and many others. Wood Apple is often confused with Bael or Bilva. Both fruits can look similar with hard coconut-like shells, but that is where the comparison ends. The tree and leaves have a very distinctive look. Very uncommon in the United States it is extremely popular across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The Wood Apple is sometimes referred to as Elephant Apple not to be confused with the true Elephant Apple (Dillenia indica). The common name confusions aside, this Wood Apple produces an amazing fruit that tastes sweet and sour.
Wood apple is considered sacred in Hinduism. It is associated with Lord Ganesha, who is the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. In Hindu religious rituals, the fruit and leaves of Limonia acidissima are often offered to Lord Ganesha as a symbol of devotion and to seek his blessings.

Eriobotrya japonica, also known as Japanese plum, Nispero, Japanese medlar, P**a, Mespilus

Loquat is a species of tree that is native to Southeast Asia and is grown for its sweet, juicy fruit. It's deep green foliage also makes it a beautiful ornamental tree. The fruit is oval or pear-shaped, with yellow or orange skin and a white flesh. Loquats are commonly eaten fresh or used to make jams, jellies, and other preserves. Loquat fruit has a sweet, tangy flavor that is often described as a cross between a pear and a peach. The flesh is juicy and slightly tart, with a texture that is similar to that of a ripe plum. Some varieties of loquat may also have a slightly floral or musky taste. The skin of the fruit is edible.

Loquat trees are generally hardy and can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, including drought and heat. They can grow in hardiness zones 8-10, and can tolerate temperatures as low as 15°F. However, young trees may be more sensitive to frost, so it is best to protect them with until they are established.
In general, loquat trees are low-maintenance and easy to grow, but they do benefit from regular watering and fertilization. They also prefer full sun and well-draining soil, and can be pruned to control their size and shape. With proper care, loquat trees can be productive for many years and provide a bountiful harvest of sweet and juicy fruit.

Diospyros lycioides. Planted from seed in 2020. And we have FRUIT! It has been flowering for about a year, but no fruit, so I assumed it needed a male. This is a female tree. I've read that they typically will only produce fruit with a male. Sometimes they will produce without male cross pollination, but not as prolific and the fruits may not produce seeds. Native throughout South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland and areas of Botswana. Also known as the toothbrush tree. It’s branches were used as chew sticks and in earlier toothbrushes. Medicinal properties throughout the plant. The fruits are small round persimmons that are used in making liqueur, brandy, jams, and are eaten from hand when ripe and bletted.
