I've been asked about providing medium for carnivorous plants once it comes time to repot into your preferred pot and so now I'll be providing these handy kits which contain roughly two quarts - enough mix to fill up three 3.5" wide by 5" tall pots. In addition, there's also sphagnum moss, which I use in the bottoms of my pots to prevent wash out and assist in absorbing the water these plants love. It's all hydrated and ready to use! These packs can be purchased for $10 per bag.
It might just look like dirt, but I put a surprising amount of love into my potting mix. I use quality ingredients that are safe for carnivorous plants; also, I wash and screen everything before I mix them together. Screening helps to filter out any debris and washing ensures that the products I'm using are clean and free of gross stuff like cyanobacteria. It's quite a bit of work in the end and it's not a practice that many people in the hobby do, but I believe in providing you all with the best experience and entry point into the carnivorous plant hobby possible.
