Completed a redo of our fire place mantle, surround, and cabinetry. The aged gold profile elements were all gilded (by Jessica) and then I applied three different glazes and top coat. The dark flat surfaces were painted with a gold/black and then glazed with a walnut and asphaltum glaze. The cabinet raised panels received a tissue texture and then gold leafed, glazed and top coated. The shelves and other flat surfaces of the cabinets were wood grained to look like quarter sawn oak. A fun project. The horizontal designs are raised stencils that were also gold leafed. T
