Coco Maison Design Designing homes that elevate our client’s everyday moments, resulting in soulful, storied spaces

Homes mark chapters. A design partner helps orchestrate these new beginnings.

Many of our clients return to us in moments of transition. Moves across the country, growing families, kids leaving the nest, an intentional starting over. They value the design work, but more than that, they crave continuity. A steady hand. They value working someone who already understands how they live.

We help translate what’s next into something tangible and concrete. To us, this is the work. Not just creating a home, but remaining a trusted partner as life evolves around it.

Perched above the mountains surrounding Park City, Deer Vista was conceived as a design-led spec build redefining what luxury mountain living can be.

A study in architectural precision, warmth, restraint, and adaptability, it reflects a more integrated approach. One where architecture and design evolve together, from the very beginning. Swipe to view the conceptual renderings for this upcoming project. →

I notice the fundamentals first. Proportion. Flow. Light. Scale.

When they’re in balance, a home feels whole. When they’re not, you feel it immediately, even if you can’t name why.

That’s where we begin.

While this home is new to us, the client is not.

Several years ago, we designed her California residence. Now, we’ve been invited back, this time to reimagine her new Fort Wayne home as she begins another chapter.

That continuity is priceless. We already understand how she lives, how she makes decisions, what brings a sense of ease to her daily routine, and where design matters most to her. There’s an established rhythm to the relationship now. Communication feels intuitive. The process, more assured.

These long-term partnerships allow the work to deepen over time. Not just aesthetically, but strategically.

More to come as this next chapter takes shape.

These details rarely announce themselves, but they craft the experience of a home.

How light moves across a room.
Where the eye travels.
How a sense of order and symmetry subtly takes hold.
How one room transitions to the next.

When architectural elements are determined early, everything that follows feels more natural; each space connected, and the whole reading as one.

Our client’s love of horses, heritage, and hospitality guided each decision for this Flintridge estate.

We oriented the design toward its surroundings, framing verdant views through expansive windows and glass doors that allow light to move freely throughout the interiors.

Materiality draws from the English countryside: decadent textures, tailored millwork, and storied antiques that carry a sense of history. Equestrian references are woven throughout to offer character without overt theme.

Balanced against this is a quiet modernity; spaces that function effortlessly for daily life while still holding a sense of occasion. Whether hosting intimate gatherings or enjoying the quiet beauty of an early morning ride, Horse & Hound is a sanctuary designed for those who appreciate the art of living well.

If you’ve ever looked at your interior design budget and wondered where it all goes, you’re not alone.

What matters more than the amount you invest is where that investment is placed. Not every space carries the same weight. Some make daily life and chores easier, while others define first impressions. And then, there are those spaces that simply don’t require the same level of detail.

In this post, we're sharing the framework we use with our clients; where to invest versus where to simplify, and how to create an intentional home while protecting your budget.

Have you ever seen or toured a home, and easily picture yourself within it?

We shape that sense of familiarity in our homes through light, scale, proportion, and flow. Subtle decisions that guide how a space is experienced, not just seen. This creates a home that feels natural from the start, and lives warmly in someone's memory long after they've left.

What's in a name?

More than it may seem. Coco Maison is both familiar and aspirational. Coco has long been a nickname for Courtney and my beloved “Auntie” name within our family. Maison, the French word for home, reflects the elegance and intention that have always guided our work. Together they form Coco Maison, a name that holds warmth and refinement, personality and polish, intimacy and vision. And yes, perhaps just a touch of French flair.

While the name has evolved, the heart of the work has not. What has shifted is the clarity of our process, our perspective, and the role we play in designing timeless, legacy homes that are meant to endure.

This marks a new chapter, and in many ways, a return.

If you’re curious to read more about the story behind the rebrand, we’ve shared it in our Journal at the link in bio.

We had a whirlwind trip and 4 days was more than enough for our tired little feet.

Here's what we focused on: reconnecting with old friends and our favorite vendors, sit testing all the upholstery (our legs have new muscles), gleaning some fantastic design Inspo from showrooms and broadening our product search to include more modern vendors (cause we’re feeling the call for aesthetic growth)
