Today’s macaron color is inspired by my movie for the morning! I couldn’t decide between purple or blue until the beautiful cinematography inspired me to match the blue.

Oh, by the way, these will be chocolate hazelnut flavored…

Well, there goes another school year. And wow that was an interesting one. The low was definitely breaking my ankle and spending the last 3 months on a scooter (but just 3.5 more days!!). There were so many highs, but certainly the best part was all the connections I was privileged enough to make with all my fantastic students. I will miss them all! I hope many of my 4th graders will join me again next year and that those who don’t and my 5th graders will have a wonderful next adventure.

It is now time for my yearly transition as well. During the school year, I am a teacher first then a baker. But during those few summer months I get to flip that and throw myself into baking (while still teaching a few lessons).

Stay tuned to find out where I’ll be bringing said baked goods (especially macarons)! I’ll create another post a bit later with my market info!

This cutie needs a name! Any suggestions?

This was my first time sculpting a cake and also working with modeling chocolate. He’s a bit bumpy but I’m still so proud of him! I learned A LOT from this project. It tastes delicious too (strawberry-vanilla-white chocolate for the octopus and chocolate-hazelnut-raspberry for the ocean floor)! This cake took 2 FULL days to make and weighs 11 pounds. My biggest cake yet! It was so fun to make though!!! All the details made me so excited!!!
