Egress window wells should have a cover so people don't fall in. Plastic molded covers are great for keeping out moisture as well. This steel one is nice because you can walk on it. We see settling concrete steps often which can cause trip hazards and direct water into the foundation/basement. We replaced these steps with a small deck. Less expensive option and more appealing for renters in our opinion.
