We grow l

avender, herbs, flowers, and plant starts among native oak trees on our farm in Goldendale, Washington — creating botanical garden pockets gently woven into the land. Our goal is to work with nature, supporting pollinators, encouraging beneficial insects, and building healthy soil through regenerative farming practices. From our farm we craft a range of lavender and botanical goods — from soothing self-care products to culinary lavender and herbal offerings — all inspired by the land. You can find our products at The Dalles, OR and Hood River, OR Farmers Markets, and local events across the Columbia River Gorge, at our Little Lavender Boutique in the Market Place Underground in downtown La Grande, Oregon (1101 Washington Ave Suite 26), or by visiting our farm store in Goldendale, Washington, available by appointment along with farm tours. Our journey began with lavender plants in a backyard garden in La Grande and has grown into building a small botanical lavender farm and community gathering space. We proudly support other small businesses and makers and love collaborating with our regional farming and artisan community.

✨ Come grow with us — from seed to self-care, there’s always something blooming Among the Trees.

🪻 Did You Know? Not All Lavender Tastes Good! 🪻

One of the biggest misconceptions about lavender is that all lavender can be used in cooking.

The truth? Some varieties can taste very soapy or medicinal due to higher levels of camphor.

That’s why we use culinary English lavender varieties for our teas, infused sugars, seasoning salts, simple syrup, and other culinary creations.

When used correctly, lavender should add a light floral note—not taste like perfume or soap!

It’s one of the reasons we love introducing people to culinary lavender. So many people tell us they thought they didn’t like lavender… until they tried the right variety.

Curious about cooking with lavender?

Browse our culinary creations on our website, or come see us this weekend at Blues & Brews at the Skamania County Fairgrounds! All of our culinary creations are produced in a commercial kitchen.

📅 Friday | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📅 Saturday | 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

We’ll have a variety of our culinary products available, as well as culinary buds for you to make your own creations, and we’d love to help you discover a new favorite.

Lavender harvest season is here, and our Little Lavender Farm Store is slowly transforming into a drying room. 🪻✨

Overhead hang bundles of freshly harvested lavender, filling the farm store with the scent of summer.

This season, besides harvesting the lavender from our La Grande property, we’re incredibly thankful to be partnering with a couple of friends to harvest their lavender as we patiently wait for our own plants to mature.

Farming teaches patience in a way few things can. You plant not for today, but for seasons yet to come.

Last September, we tucked 40 lavender plants into the earth here on the farm. While they’re not quite ready for harvest yet, we can’t wait to watch them grow. Next year, we hope for a small but mighty first harvest from those original plants—and in the years to come, from the hundreds more we’ve propagated ourselves.

In the coming weeks, these bundles will take many forms.

Some will become dried bouquets to bring a little beauty into your home.

Others will be carefully stripped into culinary lavender buds for our teas, seasoning salts, infused sugars, simple syrup, and baking mixes coming soon.

Did you know not all lavender is meant to be eaten? We grow culinary English lavender varieties for our culinary creations because of their sweet, floral flavor. Many non-culinary varieties, such as French lavender, contain higher levels of camphor and can taste soapy or medicinal when used in cooking.

Harvest season is one of my favorite times of year. The farm smells sweet and floral, the bees are busy, and every bundle hanging from the rafters represents years of patience, care, and dreaming.

I only wish you could smell it in here.

There is something almost magical about a room filled with drying lavender—the soft rustle of stems, the purple hues overhead, and that unmistakable fragrance that seems to slow time itself.

Little by little, the dream continues to bloom. 💜🌲🪻

One little farm kitchen upgrade at a time. 🤍🌲

Our old blue board shelf has officially been replaced with a beautiful locally sourced blue pine live edge shelf, and with the addition of our stainless steel fridge (finally 😅), our little farm kitchen finally feels complete.

This is actually the fifth fridge my husband tried to buy off Marketplace… and thankfully, this one works beautifully. 😂 What a gift it feels like to have a freezer again.

From September of last year until April, we lived without one on the property. And the last two months — after our solar fridge box died and before getting solar fully set up — we made do with a mini fridge, our RTIC cooler turned “cold storage” with ice packs, and our deep freezer stored at friends’ farm in The Dalles. We’re endlessly thankful for the people who helped us along the way. 🤍

Building this dream has meant giving up a lot of modern comforts for a while. But somewhere in the middle of all of it, we learned how much beauty there is in simple things — a cold fridge, home cooked meals, morning light through the windows, and cooking dinner while looking out over the chicken run and scrub oak trees.

This little off-grid farmhouse has been built slowly, intentionally, and with so much heart. And somehow, that makes every small luxury feel even sweeter. 🌿✨

Yesterday I harvested the very first lavender plants I ever planted.

The year was 2022.

The same year Will and I got married at a lavender farm.

Back then, I wasn’t dreaming of becoming a lavender farmer. I didn’t know there would one day be goats and chickens, greenhouses and gardens, a farm store among the oak trees, or hundreds of lavender plants propagated by our own hands.

I just knew I loved lavender.

I’ve harvested these plants before. But this was the first time harvesting them since moving to our farm in Goldendale.

And I cried.

Not because of the lavender itself—but because of everything it represents.

These plants have quietly witnessed so much life. New beginnings. Big dreams. Hard seasons. Moves across states. The letting go of old identities. The courage to build a new life from the ground up.

And somehow, through it all, they grew.

Beautiful. Healthy. Huge.

Perhaps there is a lesson in that.

Sometimes we plant seeds before we fully understand why.

Sometimes our hearts know where we’re headed long before our minds can make sense of it.

In 2022, I planted lavender.

I didn’t realize I was planting a future.

Soon, these fragrant bundles will be dried and transformed into culinary lavender buds for our culinary line—seasoning salts, infused sugars, teas, simple syrup, and baking mixes (coming soon). It feels especially meaningful knowing that the very first plants I ever planted will continue their journey into products that bring a little beauty and flavor into the homes of others.

A special thank you to HH Solutions Inc. for taking such wonderful care of our property in La Grande, keeping the lavender thriving and both of our Airbnb spaces beautiful for guests to enjoy. Your care helped preserve a piece of our story while we built a new one.

Life has a funny way of bringing us full circle.

What once was simply a flower has become a way of life.

And today, my heart is very full. 💜🪻✨

Today you won’t find us at the farmers market—you’ll find us coordinating a wedding at the beautiful Riverside Park in La Grande through our events business McLaughlin Events. 💍🌿

One of the reasons we chose this life was to create space for the things we’re most passionate about. Building a farm among the oak trees is one of those dreams. Creating meaningful events is another.

Through McLaughlin Events, we have the privilege of helping bring some of life’s most important moments to life—from weddings and markets to community gatherings and celebrations.

We love the behind-the-scenes work: keeping ahead of potential problems, adapting when plans change, solving challenges on the fly, and making sure every detail comes together so our clients can simply be present and enjoy the day.

There’s something magical about watching months of planning unfold into a beautiful celebration surrounded by family and friends.

As we continue building Among the Trees Botanical Lavender Farm, we also cannot wait to host more events out on the farm—from yoga in the wildflowers and workshops to markets, gatherings, and celebrations under the oak trees.

We’re incredibly grateful for the clients who trust us with their milestones and memories. It is an honor we never take lightly.

Wishing today’s couple a lifetime of love and happiness. 💜✨
