It’s not Tea… but it’s me! 💙💐

Yep, Hollie’s Tea Box is still very much closed…. BUT, I realized it doesn’t mean I can’t share all of my pretty English things from here…… in England??

It’s been over a year since we packed our (almost perfect) life up and moved across the world to be IN the land of cream teas.

Let’s just say…… it’s been a year! We have moved twice already (both reasons include a silly amount of water and we don’t want to delve into that 😅).
I have opened a business here… nope, not scone making 😩, but in actual fact my other love. Teaching BALLET!
My family have settled in well but we miss our Ladera home so very much!

I realized the other day how much I missed posting pretty tea pictures.. and Im very much all about finding things that bring us joy.

So, here I am… in the sun ( which we have seen about 4 times in the last 9 months) wearing a sun hat.

I hope everyone has had a lovely year, and scone substitutes haven’t been hard to come by 🙈.

Hello!

Gosh, it’s been a while…. I know! And I’m so sorry I sort of dropped off this space.

Multiple reasons which I don’t want to bore you too much with…. long Covid, raising children and a change of future plans mostly.

Anyway, Im just letting you know that tea boxes are on hold indefinitely as of now.
I know, Im not crying 😭

HOWEVER…. Mince pies…..thoughts?

Raise your hand if you’d like some mince pies this year 🙋🏼‍♀️ and we will go from there 😉

It’s been a busy/strange few months.

Children, work, potential big life changes have all been part of the reason I’ve been so quiet, and Tea Boxes have become more of a side thought rather than focus.

At the beginning of this year, I had so many plans for this little business of ours. And now, at this moment in time, my plans (sadly) aren’t as big and ambitious as they once were. However, it doesn’t take the joy away from making and sharing something that is so special to me and to the country I will forever call home.

So, after that little update…

Tea boxes are still very much available for Saturday deliveries and pickups!

I am also very available for catering orders, which I can do any day of the week :) message me if you’d like more info and I will be adding catering options to our website shortly.

I will also be adding one of my favorite baking essentials for sale very soon also!

( ps.. photo is of my kiddos outside their school this morning. Im so thankful for this school. For the teachers and staff that bring magic, wonder, and enchantment to my children’s days)

Recipe below 🐣 💐 👇🏻

My memories of Easter as a child are all held in this little nest of chocolate mini eggs.

Making a chocolate cornflake nest is one of those very typical Easter traditions as a child which you somehow never forget.
I think I made them ever year at primary school 😅 I remember so vividly walking out the school gates to meet my mum desperately trying not to drop my chocolate nest I had made. And of course, so very excited to demolish it when I got home.

They are so simple, yet absolutely scummy and children equally love making and eating them 😃

🐣 So here’s the recipe! ( makes about 12 nests)

* 100g chocolate
* 50g butter
* 2 tbsp golden syrup/ maple syrup/honey
* 100g cornflakes
* Mini sugar coated Easter eggs ( these are Trader Joe’s almond covered chocolate eggs but usually they would be Cadbury mini eggs!)

* melt the butter, chocolate and syrup together in the microwave. Start with 30 seconds… you don’t want it to bubble or boil! ( trust me)

* mix the cornflakes in and stir until all the cornflakes are covered with chocolate.

*spoon the cornflakes into a baking cup and make a little dip in the center for the eggs.

* place eggs in the dips and pop in the fridge to set ( about 30 mins)

Yes.. it’s that easy 🤣

That fine spring weather is upon us, and Easter is hopping into this weekend! 🐰

If there’s ever a perfect time for a picnic it’s Easter weekend 🐣

Tomorrow, I am going to do my weekly Trader Joe’s haul and share my favorite bits and pieces I like to take/ make for an afternoon picnic 😍
