My Dad. Vito Anthony Carrieri. Started working building coffins as an apprentice and worked for free to learn his craft. Came to America at 20 with zero English under his belt. 6 busses to get to work in downtown Chicago and 7 to come home because he had to go to night school to learn English. Worked his way up from a furniture store making furniture . ( They told him there was no way he could make furniture because he was not from Sweden. “Italians don’t make furniture” he was told. Growing up he worked 6-7 days a week. Work Ethic- he’s the guy that taught me what it meant. 🔨👷🏼🛠 County
