2025 was the year of planning and designing, and now 2026 is the year of construction. Breaking ground soon will be the Soldier's Cross Veterans Memorial in Rayne, LA. A privately funded memorial park dedicated to the veterans of Rayne featuring a pentagon shaped plaza with name plaque walls, a soldier's cross statue, walking paths, bench seating, new landscaping, and outdoor lighting. It has been an honor to have the opportunity to work with the client and E L Habetz Builders Inc. to design a new space for the city of Rayne.

He designed some of the world’s most recognizable buildings, notably the spectacular Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, his masterpiece.

Apex Training Gym is a personal fitness center owned by a husband and wife team. Located in Broussard, Louisiana, this 5,000 square foot facility sits on a 1.5-acre lot and houses multiple types of fitness equipment used by members for various exercise routines. The design utilizes a pre-engineered metal building frame to create an open floor plan within, featuring locker rooms, bathrooms, and a fitness area.

Owned by Post 15 of the American Legion in Crowley, Louisiana, this building once housed the Acadia Theater. It was a prominent fixture in Downtown Crowley that lost some of its curb appeal over many years. We worked with Post 15 to utilize state grant money to bring the building back to life. The facade renovation focused on rebuilding the storefront and canopy, resurfacing the existing stucco work, and giving the facade some color. E L Habetz Builders Inc.

We’re in the home stretch on the facade renovation of the old Acadia Theatre (originally built in 1919) in the heart of the Crowley Main Street Historic District. As general contractor, E L Habetz is honored to help give this landmark a much-needed facelift — and it's now the proud home of the American Legion Post 15.

Just a few final touches remain—building signage, glass door sidelights, door hardware, and paint touch ups —before we wrap up next week. The transformation has been incredible!

We’re thrilled to announce our latest historic preservation project in downtown Crowley! We’ve officially mobilized to begin a facade renovation at the American Legion Post 15 —a building with a rich history. Built in 1919 as the Acadia Theatre, this was Crowley’s very first modern movie house. 🎬

Our team is excited to work with Petitjean Architecture, LLC and the Legionnaires on this transformative project. Stay tuned as we work to revitalize and preserve the facade of this historic gem for future generations!
