"Butternut" - A Warm Look for Your Redwood Deck

Homeowners have a lot of choice of colors and stain tints when they are staining their redwood deck. Karen's Company recommends a high quality penetrating stain for new decks, recently stripped redwood decks, or decks that have been previously stained with a similar product. PPG's CETOL SRD product is one that we recommend for such an application.

The most popular tints to use with a quality stain are Butternut, Cedar, Dark Oak, Mahogany, Natural, Natural Oak and Teak. While each has its own striking look, "Butternut" is a great choice for a warm, rich finished appearance of your redwood deck. (To us, just the mention of the word butternut gives us visions of warmth and sweetness!)

Last week we had the opportunity to clean and re-stain a redwood deck for a couple in Longmont. It was a pretty straightforward project for repeat clients. We wanted to post some pictures here to showcase the Cetol SRD product, in the wonderful Butternut tint.

This is a great time to re-coat your redwood deck. You can ensure your deck is protected from the winter elements and have a great looking deck not only for this fall, but into next spring and summer.

Stunning Entry Door In Broomfield - Stripping Old Paint to Uncover a Beauty.

Our clients had a painted wooden door at the entry of their home. Knowing that there was a quality wooden door beneath the fading paint lead her to ask us to help her strip the door and refinish the door back to its original wood grain. Our Team of Alyssa and Josh used a paint stripper and specialty stripping tools and techniques to remove the old paint. Here is a picture of the door during the stripping process.

"Software" for Painting Cabinets!

Today we are showing you how to use "Software" to get great results for your cabinets and bath vanities

No, not digital software! This is a neutral grey paint color from Sherwin Williams!

We paint 5 to 10 cabinet jobs every month so we are fortunate enough to have many examples of the wonderful cabinet transformations we can accomplish as part of your remodel.

There are tons of different greys! blue-greys and charcoal greys. It pays to put some thought into which color you decide to use to get the best look for your remodeled bath. When you are considering your options, don't for get the "Software" option. Thanks again to our great cabinet team!

*** We always use Benjamin Moore Premium Interior Paint for our Cabinets. We had the paint experts at Guiry's in Boulder color match the BM Regal paint to the Sherwin Williams color deck for "Software"

Newly Painted "White Dove" Cabinets & Painting Cabinets Safely

This week we are featuring another "before and after" kitchen cabinet painting project. The homeowner had us perform our thorough cabinet surface preparation procedures and then paint the cabinets with the popular Benjamin Moore OC-17 "White Dove" Latex semigloss paint. The island cabinets were painted a dramatic black semigloss. We think the cabinets turned out great and our customer is thrilled with her kitchen.

We are also proud to show some pictures of our crew as they process the cabinets doors and drawer fronts in our professional spray shop facility in Broomfield. There are some candid pictures of Josh and Carson doing a light sanding between sprayed paint coats. Light sanding between coats is one of the best practices we use to ensure a uniform, attractive and durable finish for your cabinets.

We also include a picture of Carson spraying a cabinet door in our spray shop. If you are not familiar with how such a facility is equipped, we can point out the vertical wall of ventilation filters behind Carson. He is in an OSHA approved high flow ventilation area, and the filters behind him collect the latex paint particles generated by the cabinet painting process.
