Send me your phone # & leave a message. I will send you confirmation & address when a day/time is set. I strongly recommend that all fish be quarantined & properly acclimated. My fish are in qt for 4 weeks with all fish coming from reputable dealers with strong qt/health protocols.

Also, Brian’s Botanicals has great plants for sale. I bought some carnivorous pitcher plants that you can float in your pond that are good through zone 5. $12 each. House plants plus other pond plants available. He is also located nearby in Sheppardsville, KY

It’s time to monitor those water temps & check your inventory of wheat germ/spring fall food. You need to be in the 50-60 F range before feeding. When in doubt, wait longer. You also may need to prepare for a fluke treatment as the water birds return. This is the medicine that I use recommended by my NMZNA Koi Club. I get it at Tractor Supply on 38.

It’s that time of year again! Time to put in pond deicers, air stones within a foot of the surface, filters & pumps shut down. & no more feeding with water temps below 50 F. Keep pumps & filter pads in the pond at a level that they won’t freeze in the ice. This keeps seals from drying out & beneficial bacteria ready for spring. Here’s to a safe winter for your goldfish & koi!
