Easy Veggies to Grow in Buckets This April! 🌱🪣 These grow beautifully in 5-gallon buckets!
🍅 Tomatoes – Just add a cage for support!
🥬 Lettuce – Loves cooler spring temps
🌶️ Peppers – Great in warm, sunny spots
🫘 Bush Beans – Compact and super productive
🌱 Radishes – Fast growers ready in weeks
🥬 Spinach – Thrives in cooler weather
🧅 Green Onions – Keep snipping, they regrow!
🥒 Cucumbers – Give them a trellis and watch them climb
🥕 Carrots – Deep buckets = straight roots
💡 Tip: Use well-draining soil and water regularly for healthy harvests!

Did you know most flowers and veggies grow well in containers. The weather is warming up across the country. If you thought you didn't have enough space to grow vegetables, you may want to consider growing them in containers, even if you live in an apartment or condo, and at any time of the year. Small yards can easily grow plants in containers on their patios or decks.

There are several types of containers that can be used for growing vegetables including polyethylene plastic bags, clay pots, plastic pots, metallic pots, milk jugs, bushel baskets, barrels, and planter boxes. It is important to use containers that can accommodate roots of the vegetables you want to grow as the vegetables vary in sizes and rooting depths.

Most vegetables grown in backyard gardens can be grown in containers, although a container's diameter and depth needs to be considered when selecting what vegetables to grow. The plant density (number of vegetable plants per container) depends on individual plant space requirements, and rooting depth. It's best to use one of the potting mixes in vegetable container gardening as they are light, disease-free, w**d seed-free, and have good drainage.

Propagating roses is easy with these methods:
1. Water Glass Method: Cut rose stems and soak them in blended aloe vera pulp for five days before planting in peat.
2. Aloe Vera and Rose Cutting Combo: Insert rose cutting into an aloe vera cutting, plant in a jar with soil and expanded clay, and keep hydrated.
3. Plastic Bottle Method: Fill a halved plastic bottle with soil and expanded clay, plant rose cutting, and cover to maintain humidity until roots develop.
4. Water in Bottle Method: Place a cleaned branch in a half-filled bottle of water, add essential oil drops for fragrance, and wait for sprouting.

The USDA is updating an important map for gardeners and growers picking plants and flowers. The new map shows the contiguous U.S. is about 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the last map 11 years ago.
