With three elementary kids, this past weekend was dedicated to trying on all their school uniforms, assessing what is still in decent shape, what new clothes they need, and what shoes are worn out. Arguing about whether heels and makeup can be part of the daily uniform may or may not have also come up with my almost-eleven year old. A few times. (I won.)
Then, since we were already at it and I'd been threatening a cleanup day for weeks (because my sanity gets precarious when I can't remember the last time the carpets were vacuumed!), we turned it into a full-fledged audit-and-purge. Roof raising stuff, I'm telling you.
I explain auditing to my kids as making sure everything is where it should be. So, we emptied and sorted every drawer, bin and shelf with gusto and came up with 3 laundry baskets full of stuff to get rid of. Moral of the story? The carpets finally got vacuumed, the kids can close their drawers again, and I didn't get any time in the garden ππ
Until tonight π A bucket full of trimmings and weeds, a little watering, and even a few mosquito slaps were just the ticket to wind down a busy Monday!
