THE PROJECTS YOU NEVER SEE

Someone recently said to me, “I thought Luxe Design did more spec homes.”

And it made me realize something.

Some of the most extraordinary homes we design will never appear on Instagram.

We have been fortunate to work with very private, high-profile clients who simply cannot—or prefer not to—have their homes photographed or shared publicly.

And we respect that completely.

So when you look through our portfolio, you are only seeing a portion of our work.

For more than four decades, I’ve designed luxury residences for private clients, repeat clients, developers and builders. Some projects we can share. Some we can show only in private presentations. And some remain completely confidential.

In luxury design, discretion is part of the service.

Sometimes the homes you’re not allowed to show are some of the most remarkable ones you’ve ever designed.

A little peekaboo into one of our favorite contemporary kitchens in Las Vegas. This kitchen was designed as part of an entire home by Luxe Design, where every space was considered as part of one cohesive vision.

We love creating kitchens that go beyond beautiful cabinetry and finishes. It’s about architecture, function, unexpected details, and a little bit of fun.

This peekaboo kitchen is a perfect example—sleek, contemporary and designed to make a statement while still feeling completely integrated into the home.

There is no greater compliment in our business than when a client trusts us to design not just one home, but their next.

After completing our clients’ home in Newport Coast, we were honored when they asked Luxe Design to create their forever home in Park City.

Now, we’re designing every detail of this extraordinary mountain residence—including a collection of beautiful, custom fireplaces that will become architectural focal points throughout the home. Each one is being thoughtfully designed with its own materials, scale, texture, and character, while maintaining a cohesive vision from room to room.

From Newport Coast to Park City, it is incredibly rewarding to continue the design journey with clients who trust our vision and allow us to create something truly personal for the way they want to live.

At Luxe Design, our vision doesn’t stop at the front door.

When we first approached this home, the exterior was a very bright blue—a color that created a strong personal statement but could potentially limit its appeal to future buyers. Because this is a spec home, every design decision needs to be considered through the eyes of the luxury market.

We carefully reimagined the exterior palette with sophisticated, timeless tones that complement the architecture, enhance the surrounding materials, and create a more elevated first impression.

Selecting an exterior color isn’t simply about choosing a beautiful shade. We consider the architecture, natural light, roof and hardscape materials, surrounding environment, interior palette, and—especially for a spec home—the expectations of the potential buyer.

Great design should create an emotional connection without becoming overly specific to one person’s taste.

From the exterior architecture to the final interior detail, Luxe Design creates a cohesive vision designed to appeal, endure, and add value.

✨ A Dream Residence on Lake Tahoe ✨

For years, I had envisioned the opportunity to design a residence along the shores of Lake Tahoe—one of the world’s most extraordinary and exclusive natural settings.

That vision became reality when a longtime client from Las Vegas acquired a remarkable lakefront property and entrusted Luxe Design with its transformation.

It was an extraordinary professional milestone and a project I will always remember.

We thoughtfully reimagined select areas of the home and furnished the residence in its entirety, creating a refined interior that honors the architecture while allowing the unparalleled lake and mountain views to take center stage.

Designing in Lake Tahoe is a rare privilege. Every detail is shaped by the landscape—the crystalline water, dramatic peaks, shifting light, and ever-changing seasons. The result is a home that feels both elevated and deeply connected to its setting.

This was an exceptional project, an unforgettable experience, and the realization of a long-held dream.

A Great Presentation Day for Our Park City Project ✨

There is no greater compliment than being invited to design another home for a valued client.

After completing the renovation of our clients’ Newport Coast residence, we are thrilled to continue our relationship as we design their beautiful new-build home in Park City.

Their Newport Coast home featured DOCA cabinetry, and they loved the quality, craftsmanship, and sophisticated European aesthetic so much that we are incorporating DOCA into their Park City residence as well.

Today’s presentation was another exciting step in bringing this home to life—from the interior architecture and cabinetry to the materials, finishes, and details that will make every space feel intentional and uniquely theirs.

For us, luxury design is about more than creating a beautiful home. It’s about developing relationships, earning trust, understanding how our clients live, and creating something even more extraordinary the second time around.

Newport Coast → Park City. A new home, a new vision, and a wonderful client relationship that continues.

GREAT DESIGN REQUIRES GREAT COLLABORATION

A successful luxury home is created when the architect, interior designer, builder, and construction team work together—while respecting each other’s expertise.

The architect establishes the architectural framework. The interior designer develops the interior architecture, functionality, materials, cabinetry, lighting relationships, and overall design vision. The builder, project manager, and superintendent are essential to executing that vision successfully in the field.

But collaboration also means understanding where one role ends and another begins.

A project manager or superintendent brings invaluable construction knowledge to a project, but their role is to manage and execute the approved design—not redesign it in the field. When design decisions are changed without consulting the architect or designer, even a seemingly small adjustment can affect proportions, materials, cabinetry, lighting, furniture placement, or the overall continuity of the home.

Questions and construction challenges should absolutely be brought to the team. That is where collaboration becomes so important. The best solution comes from solving the problem together—not from independently changing the design.

When everyone communicates, respects the drawings, and stays within their area of expertise, the client receives what they hired the entire team to create:

A Blast From the Past! ✨

Luxe Design has had the privilege of being involved in so many beautiful luxury homes over the years—from Las Vegas to Orange County and beyond.

Our approach has always been about the entire vision. From the exterior architecture and interior detailing to the cabinetry, finishes, lighting and final furniture selections, every element is thoughtfully designed to work together and create a truly cohesive home.

We are especially proud that several of the homes we’ve been involved with have gone on to sell at record-setting prices per square foot—a wonderful reminder that exceptional design isn’t simply about creating something beautiful; it can also add tremendous value.

Whether we’re designing in Orange County, Las Vegas, or internationally, our philosophy remains the same:

Take the ordinary and make it extraordinary.

FROM ORDINARY TO EXTRAORDINARY ✨

Luxe Design was hired to design this nearly 14,000-square-foot home for our client in Las Vegas, and our renderings allow the client to see exactly how each space will come together before construction is complete.

Our goal is always to take a home from ordinary to extraordinary through interior architecture, thoughtful details, beautiful materials, and intentional design.

One of the interesting challenges with this home? Our client did not want a single area rug anywhere in the house.

That meant the flooring itself had to become an important part of the design. Instead of relying on rugs to define spaces, add texture, or create warmth, we had to accomplish that through the architecture—using changes in materials, patterns, stone, wood, furniture placement, lighting, and other details to give each room its own identity while maintaining a cohesive flow throughout nearly 14,000 square feet.

These are the challenges I love because they push us to think differently.

Beautiful design isn’t simply decorating a room. It’s solving problems creatively and making every detail feel intentional.
