Hi Everyone, Tinker Tom here,

I am local Wood Worker that lives in the Lake Jackson area of Texas. Worth area of Texas and transplanted to the beautiful state of Colorado when I was in my teens. There, I had many adventures in the mountains and created memories with a little help form my friends that will last a lifetime. I loved the freedom that came with growing up in the 80's that I think kids

just don't have anymore. As a Woodworker, I try my best to create handmade quality pieces at affordable prices for my customers to enjoy. I'm always in search of new items to make so please don't be shy in asking if I've ever made this or that for anyone. Thanks for stopping in and have a Blessed Day! Tinker Tom Out!

The Birdhouse Known as the Love Shack. Affectionately referred to as the Love Shack by neighboring residents, this bird box has successfully raised numerous generations of birds. Its design features a perch and shelf for both juvenile birds and parents to utilize. The top is reinforced with crisscrossed supporting wire, ensuring stability and confidence when hanging, thereby minimizing movement.

Materials: Cedar, galvanized nails, tritebond three waterproof glue, Gavinized plastic handing wire, stainless steel hinges, ceramic coated screws.

Love bluebirds!

April brings a welcome sight across North Carolina as bluebirds return and begin searching for places to nest. Their bright color and gentle presence add something special to backyards, but they also need the right conditions to settle in.

Peterson Bluebird breeding box.

This is the closest if not the same design that Mr. Peterson came up with. 2x4 frame construction, cedar 5/8 thick walls, oversized slanted roof, vented top and bottom of box. This is a large bluebird box

Google search result, this is accurate from what I have researched.
The Peterson bluebird nest box was developed in the 1960s by Dick and Vi Peterson of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Dick Peterson, a self-taught naturalist and "tinkerer," designed the box to combat the severe decline of Eastern bluebirds, which had lost nearly 90% of their population due to habitat loss and competition from invasive species like starlings.
