We know that Lake Lure and the surrounding areas have taken a lot of damage. We are prepared to make all the repairs needed to help restore power to your home. Many homes need their overhead power poles and meters repaired. The power company will not repair your service pole or meter. They will disconnect your service line, and you must have your meter and service pole repaired by an electrician. If we do not provide this service for you, please use a licensed electrician to make this repair. We will work with you on a payment method if you need one. Rutherford County allows these repairs to be made immediately, and repairs are reported later with before and after photos. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are no longer accepting donations. Instead you can donate money to the Red Cross & Samaritan's Purse both of whom are already on the ground in Western NC.

I want say how proud I am of my husband Gilbert Gonzales who immediately jumped into action once he saw how bad things were.

Also thank you to Gilbert Gonzales Jr. and Mauro Ezequiel who didn’t hesitate to jump into action too. They worked tirelessly collecting donations before they left and then spent hours cutting trees and removing debris.

For now, we have to wait before we head back that way. The emergency services are now able to get to Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Black Mountain.

If you still want to help you can give blood, donate financially or supplies to local collection centers.

We will keep you posted as we learn more about our friends in the Western part of the state.

Gil sent these to me just now. They were able to get to a group of people in Black Mountain that needed help. They were also able to clear a path so those who were stranded could get out to safety. Unfortunately they also found 14 people who didn't make it.

They are on their way to another group of people who are stranded.

So many people are in need, they have lost everything. Please consider donating to the Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse or another organization that you are familiar with. You can donate, money, supplies and your time.

I will post more updates when I have them.

If you are able to see this and still need emergency services, try this.

There is word that messaging apps such as Messenger and WhatsApp were working better for them than texting when they were able to find signal. This could be helpful to anyone, Android and Apple alike. Spread the word

If anyone needs water in Lake Lure and is able to get to the Apple Valley Gas Station near Rumbling Bald, they have running water. You will need to boil it first though.

Citybound Limo of Lake Norman and Lake Lure Electric / AMG Electric LLC are putting together a small team of volunteers to head up North towards Lake Lure/Asheville to help those in need. Not sure how far we will get or where we will end up, but we are going to try our hardest to help as many as we can.
