I wake each day challenged to support my clients’ ever-changing goals and wishes; support my employees with safe work environments and a living wage; support myself with the money left over; support the real estate agents who trust us to prepare homes for sale; support families trying to turn a new house into a home; support the compulsive collector facing eviction without our help; and support the parents who are desperately trying to clean up their home to get their child back from foster care.
Many times, I shake with fear, shed tears, take a deep breath, reach for my favorite Theodore Roosevelt quote, and then force my feet to the floor. If you have any positive energy to spare one morning, send it my way.
At the end of each day, I sigh, smile, and give thanks for the roof over my head, the clients we have helped, my children’s enduring health, and the support of loving family and good friends.
