✅ Keep flashlights and a battery-powered radio accessible
✅ Unplug major appliances to protect against power surges when electricity returns
✅ NEVER use a gas generator indoors or in an attached garage
✅ Avoid downed power lines — always assume they're live
✅ Check in on elderly neighbors who may depend on powered medical equipment

🔌 Before the first storm of the season hits, walk through these 5 electrical checkpoints with us:

1️⃣ Inspect your electrical panel for rust, burning smells, or tripped breakers
2️⃣ Test all GFCI outlets (especially in bathrooms, kitchen & garage)
3️⃣ Check that outdoor outlets have weatherproof covers
4️⃣ Confirm your generator is running and properly connected
5️⃣ Make sure your surge protectors are up to date — standard power strips don't protect against lightning surges
