Finished mantle piece! Rustic, beauty. Very few people can say “Hey, see that mantle? It is 100yr old chunck of flooring!!”. What’s yours made from?

Finished, after a few days on an old beam to mantle project! These are old sub flooring, lighter knot (heart pine) 3” x 6” inch grooved boards from VA. The tounge was a seperate peice of regular pine. Seperate from the actual board. Not real sure how old, but I don’t think stuff like this has been used since about the 1920’s. Added in a piece of FL lighter knot beam to fill the groove. 3”x5”x80”. Left some grinder marks on the face to match the top’s patina

Large cherry center piece for a dining room table, and old lighter knot beam candle holder. The piece of beam Is over 100 yrs old and was cut out of ceiling joists that were in the Seaboard Air Line freight depot in Ft Myers. Edison and ford both used that freight depot!
