Next phase complete on restoration of a beautiful 19th century Jewett Pkwy home. Previously used as a NY state-run human services home for the previous 20+ years, is being restored to its single-family 100+ year old grandeur... Focus was on the 3rd floor bathroom this time. Disregarded and used as a cold attic and retrofitted with modern HVAC equipment by the previous owner;, the 3rd floor of this historic home was once a grand residential event space...
SCOPE
- removed existing flooring, then installed and refinished reclaimed maple hardwood flooring (from another 19th century building)
- replaced gaps in original Wayne's coating (from HVAC) and replaced with matching milled lumber
- stripped/sanded 100+ years of stain and shellac from original wood work and re-stained/shellacked to match (personal blend match).
- plumbed-in and installed sink and toilet
- full skim coated and heavy patch work done on existing plaster walls
