We are a household of 5 (me + 4 males) and 4 cats. I hate to say it but it can get kind of stinky sometimes. Ever wonder what kind of toxins are in the room sprays and air fresheners from makers like Glade? Make your own using essential oils and water. For my bathroom I use an old eye glass cleaner spritz bottle. I currently have jasmine oil in mine and it covers up all of the icky bathroom odors wonderfully!

I spent my weekend out in the yard. I raked, burned, weeded and picked up stray toys missed before winter set in. My tulips, lilies, daffodils and onions have sprouted! What did you do over the weekend?

Does your dishwasher seem less effective than it used to? Mine did and that prompted me to give my husband a "job" yesterday while the kids enjoyed a snow day. He proceeded to take the dishwasher apart (only one piece partially broken!) and, wow, I was amazed. It was filled with soap build up and a little bit of..........MOLD!!! I was beside myself and grossed out. After all the parts had been soaked in ACV and scrubbed with an old toothbrush my wonderful husband set to putting the dishwasher back together. I have to wait to use it again so the caulk can dry that he used to mend the broken piece. I am happy though because it should work to it's full ability again now that it's been thoroughly cleaned!
