She left to establish her own firm and bring her own approach to the forefront. Donna has led a variety of projects including: custom residences, luxury condos, multi-use development projects, country clubs, destination clubs, and hotels. Prior to working at Slifer Designs, Donna worked in the Private Club industry with Chris Consultants and Club Corporation located in Dallas, Texas.

Meet Donna Figg, the amazing Principal Designer of DfD, with over 35 years of experience, Donna has led a variety of projects including: Custom Residences, Second Homes, Multi-use Development projects, Country Clubs, Destination Clubs, Fractional Residences, Restaurants, and Hotels.

After graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Donna began her career in Dallas Texas where she worked in the Private Club industry with Club Corporation & Chris Consultants. Donna moved to the Vail Valley in Colorado to become Slifer Designs’ Director of Hospitality. Her work included Resort Hospitality and Luxury Residences. After 12 years she moved back home to Austin to establish Donna Figg Design.

Donna is affiliated with ASID and has accreditations from NCIDQ and LEED AP.

In her free time, Donna enjoys paddleboarding and going to concerts.

Creamy Limestone and reclaimed wood beams set a richly textured foundation, complemented overhead by a dramatic aged iron chandelier and wrought iron with glass pendant lights.

Drawing you down the corridor is a captivating art piece featuring rope-wrapped cylinders in natural, light gray, and charcoal hues—elegantly set against an off-white linen mat and encased in a dark ebony solid pine shadowbox.

Swipe for a closer look at this stellar outdoor lounge & dining area!

Using the remnant from the outdoor kitchen slab, we designed a custom dining table to visually tie the space together while elevating the overall look & feel.

Designed as an extension of the indoor living space, this outdoor lounge and dining area was thoughtfully created for entertaining, relaxing, and gathering, all while taking in the incredible views of Boot Ranch.

Meet our wonderful senior designer Bethany!

Bethany graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Her design expertise consists of a portfolio that spans both commercial and high-end residential projects.

Joining DFD in 2016, Bethany has excelled across all aspects of design, bringing a full range of expertise in both fixed finish and furnishings projects. Her thoughtful approach and attention to detail ensure that each project reflects both the client’s vision and the firm’s commitment to design excellence. As a Senior Designer, Bethany is involved in all aspects of DFD’s work and is passionate about mentoring emerging designers. Her design expertise has been recognized through multiple award-winning projects, reflecting both her creativity and commitment to excellence.

Outside of work, Bethany enjoys backpacking trips to remote areas with her husband, playing volleyball, & watching her son play baseball.

Soft neutral tones in the stone flooring, rug, and console balance the richness of the wood-clad walls, creating a layered palette of light and dark.

Meet Taylor, one of the designers behind the scenes at DfD!

Taylor graduated from Texas Christian University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and is proud to now work in Lakeway, where she grew up. She began her career at DFD as a Junior Designer, developing skills in client relations, specifications, and construction drawings. In 2024, Taylor was promoted to Interior Designer and has since grown her portfolio to include residential, private club, and multifamily projects.

Taylor approaches every project with empathy, functionality, and creativity, bringing each client’s vision to life through thoughtful design solutions.

Outside of work, she enjoys live music, trying new restaurants, and, most importantly, spending time with friends and family.

Design Challenge: Planning spaces that could comfortably support large groups without losing a sense of scale. Rooms needed to feel open enough for holidays and gatherings but not oversized when the home was occupied by just a few people.

Our Solution: Scale and proportion were carefully considered throughout. Larger furnishings anchor the main living areas and provide enough seating for extended family, while lighting placement and built-in elements help maintain a comfortable, human scale. Lighting was layered intentionally, with a combination of architectural lighting and decorative fixtures to support both function and atmosphere.

Designed for a Chicago residence, this dining room embraces the client’s love for warm tones, layered textures, and natural materials.

Rich wood beams, soft textiles, and refined details create an inviting backdrop, while black metal accents and patterned upholstery add depth and contrast. A space that feels elevated, collected, and effortlessly welcoming.

We are happy to re-introduce one of our talented designers, Emily!

After spending 5 years getting her Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture and Product Design at Kansas State University, Emily decided to move back to her home state of Texas. Emily’s previous work experience included involvement in both Fixed Finish and Furnishings projects for high-end residential, hospitality, and historic preservation projects in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

Joining the DFD team in 2023, Emily is excited to build her knowledge of high-end residential design. She is also inspired to create unique designs, incorporating everything from the Texas Hill Country to Mountain Modern styles. Emily loves Interior Design because it is a never-ending puzzle that has multiple solutions.

Emily enjoys exploring new places, cooking, and reading. She is also an avid football fan!
